2015 Honda Fit EX: HDMI Mirroring While Driving Safety Override

- This video I show a quick tutorial how to disable the safety features within the head unit to allow HDMI mirroring of any device while in motion or out of park. The only problem is that you need to do this procedure every single time you restart your vehicle but it is about 20 seconds once you memorize the screens it's not the greatest solution but it does unbrick the head unit. I can now use an application such as Google Maps in order to mirror on to the head unit without any extra cost.
I don't know if the speed volume controls still works I could not tell, but it also unlocks being able to read your text messages on screen from your phone where before it would give you a safety warning that you cannot read it while in motion.
I was using my Galaxy Note 4 Verizon edition with an MHL adapter to HDMI. This particular adapter is not the greatest because it does not charge the phone at full current. I'm sure there are plenty of other devices that can mirror your phone wirelessly and still have full charge current while mirroring your screen. I'm still trying to figure out what's the best device.

One add: If needed, you can adjust aspect ratio and color. When you are in the HDMI source, hit "home", "settings", "audio".

I tried this on the Honda HRV LX Canadian version 7 inch screen with the LG G4 running marshmallow and a Slimport adaptor (LG G4 doesn't support MHL. It worked fine but instead of expanding to use the entire screen, the mirrored screen isn't any larger than the screen on my phone. If I can't make it any larger than that I may as well just use the phone in a car mount. Wonder if anyone has found a solution to this.

Do you know if this also works with the MirrorLink feature which is basically the same thing but through USB or if it's just HDMI?
I'm familiar with mirrorlink. I beleive the application needs to be certified to mirrorlink with the HU. i havnt tried it personally.
Will this work with mirrorlink too? I have a Note 4 & 2015 EX-L I was wondering if you know the steps to do the same thing, BUT THROUGH USB & NOT HDMI?
Mirrorlink the app itself needs to be certified for car use otherwise it will not interface. Disabling the ddvsp error is for the HDMI input only. Though disabling that does effect other functions present on the automatic versus the manual transmission.
Hi,I have a Honda Civic Type R 2018 there the HDMI does not work with the shutdown of DD VSP Error unfortunately. Is there still a solution? Does not this work with the new vehicles?

@@Bassguitarist1985 Well, I'm from San José Costa Rica, my Fit is 2016 EX but the version they sell here does not have a 7 inch radio touch, in exchange my radio is the 5 inch no touch equal to this, with A / C Touch: ( autoblog.com.ar/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/HONDAFIT6.jpg ) I have the project, I bought the US radio, Touch Version, same as your video, but I have several compatibility problems are:
1. The original reversing camera is not activated when setting "R" (My car is Automatic P, R, N, D, S) but inside the hidden options of the radio (power + home + Eject) the camera is active , even in the corrections of the lines it is activated and I see it. But it is not activated with "R".
2. The Clock is not saved, it is set, when you turn off the car, the time is paused. I turn on and the time is lost.
3. The dimmer when I turn on the light does not work.
4. My car does not have the connector where the baypass handbrake is made (just the one indicated here: btglobalsolutions.net/estore/image/cache/PRODUCTS%20IMAGES/HeadUnit(back)-800x800.png ) By that connector is the science of the baypass or handbrake detector cable.
These are the problems that I have, and it has cost me to find solutions, so I need the diagram of the cables of all the radio connectors to understand how the US version is connected,

Any solution to jailbreak this head unit to install apps like gmaps or waze? I couldn’t find a way to do it on jazz.

Im using an MHL adapter with my Note 4. I think the Note 8 now supports MHL too. The link is below if you live in the USA. This adapter h as the USB Type C you need. The Note 4 is micro USB

New Fit owner here.. Not sure if it's an update as of recent? But using Honda Link phone app (adding your VIN to link) and the Honda Link car menu option, allows it while driving, no hack needed. (HDMI cord still needed)
What year? 2018+? The mid model refresh updated the head unit. Different firmware, different software

I have a2018 Honda jazz. I have mirrored my iPhone and as described it goes off ever time I move. I have tried the hack to disable this but I don’t get the same #creen up as in the video. My screen is history and tasks. Any ideas?
2018 was when they did a refresh of the model. It provided support for apple carplay and for Android auto. Unfortunately this modification workaround only works for 2017 back to the 2015 models.

yes it will turn on the lane watch camera. i got my MHL adapter off amazon. i forget which one though

Not sure if it was a software update but it seems this doesn't work anymore. Once the car goes above 5 MPH, the screen shuts off again. Great for having the screen go back on at stop lights, but still can't have much use beyond that.

Anything on your phone with an MHL to HDMI adapter will show up. Controls only on the phone though. No touch screen control

Failureisnooption_fino Fino I don't think that's going to be possible since the aspect ratio of the screen does not match the resolution of the phone. I want to say that yes there is a way but I have not explored this myself.

@@Bassguitarist1985 I was starting to think it may be the cool thing to do, like leaving the tag on a baseball bat. It's as easy as removing a sticker. You don't find it a little annoying/tacky to have a floppy tag sticking out?
@@Bassguitarist1985 you should also add a link in your description to the .bat file hack that you can install to permanently save that setting so you don't have to do this every time you start your vehicle

I added them with the OEM switches :-)

My 2015 is 6 speed manual and it came with heated cloth seats. Is this unusual? it gets cold here in Canada!
Is there a permit fix that anyone’s found
I'm not aware of any permanent fix I believe that it was never meant to be a permanent fix since it is a diagnostic menu to troubleshoot not a settings menu.

not sure if it can be done. The programing is likely on a ROM chip inside the head, or if it could be reflashed would need special programming tools and software to do so.
this doesn't work with fit's with navi - anyone figure that one out yet?
There is a guy on fitfreak who has created an interupt device for the CANBUS, he has not made any prototypes yet though. He did post a youtube video showing that it works. he had the EX I think, not the EX with Navi.

Finally I got another cable and everything is working fine but ( I have a Honda Fit Ex-L NAVI automatic ) and the "DD VSP ERROR" is not working. Soon as I drive on the road the HDMI is desactivate.

Just got a 2015 fit ex. Using Honda Link phone app and Honda Link menu button allows screen mirroring while driving. The HDMI seems to only matter for an unlinked phone. Check it out!

I have an MHL to HDMI adapter. At the time I recorded this video I had a Galaxy Note 2. I haven't tried using it and I now have a Galaxy S24 Ultra.
