    Colonel Barclay was probably the best commanding officer Sharpe ever had in this series. He values and listens to Sharpe, acts kindly to everyone around him, doesn't hesitate to charge in front of his men during the battle and dies bravely.

      @@Liglerian Ramona and Harper were having relationship issues. She wanted to be married and to go back to Ireland with him. He was refusing because he knew taking a spanish woman back to Ireland that time with their child being born out of wedlock would have meant a miserable life for her there with the locals not wanting to know her anywhere she went. He figured they would have a better family life after the war away from Ireland

No matter the context, no matter if it is adapted from a written work a movie is deemed a failure if there are no female characters, while a movie filled with women is "empowering" regardless of quality (usually, it is badly written ). Even the Godfather and Shawshank Redemption automatically scored lower with female and "allied" reviewers for having few to no women characters despite being set in the Mafia and men's prison.
      the feminist media is terrible now, feminizing is good, the celebration of male (non homosexual) relationships and joy is absolutely forbidden.
