You should also see the the Dumb and Dumber prequel film from 2003, Dumb and Dumberer (that's not a typo). There was also a Dumb and Dumber cartoon TV series, if you can believe it.
Yes, there were cartoons of all big hit Jim Carrey movies. There was an Ace Ventura cartoon show as well as The Mask cartoon show… both of those lasted unlike the Dumb and Dumber cartoon. That one lasted only one season if even that long

Uh… no, Dumb and Dumber blows Friday outta the water. There are literally no other movies that top the comedy of Dumb and Dumber. Friday was just a little entertaining movie that was fun for it’s time in 1995 when it came out and hadn’t aged nearly as well as Dumb and Dumber

I've always come back to this movie and wonder what went wrong. There are a few good bits here and there, but a lot of the times it feels like they 'imitate' their own characters. Is like they couldn't recapture them just quite right. Also, they're a lot dumber, borderline childish. There isn't a serious scene like in the first one when Lloyd is at the window and they decide to travel to Aspen. It's a weird movie because the same team in front and behind the camera is there, yet there's something missing.
I think the issue is that the tone of this one felt more mean spirited. >The first movie had a smaller issue like Lloyd getting Harry's girl, so Harry getting revenge. This one literally has Lloyd go out of his way to pull a 20 year prank and Harry making Lloyd travel all around for the whole movie for a kidney prank. >Secondly, there were too many twists and turns. The Harry and Lloyd thinking its their kid. Then it being neither one of theirs. Then them never sleeping with Freida in the first place because they don't know what s*x is. It's like pick one deception and one plot twist and stick to it. >Third. There's no need for the daughter to be super dumb. Especially considering that they decided to not make her the child of either protagonists, nor did she grow up with either of them. It makes her screentime feel pointless. We already have 2 dumb characters. We don't need an irrelevant 3rd one.

Surprisingly I enjoyed the sequel more than the original. The original had depth in storytelling and set the blueprint but the sequel made me laugh out loud more.
Yeah I thought this sequel was pretty disappointing, came far too late (didn’t help that the theater I saw it in didn’t have the heat working). Humor felt far too mean spirited, forced, and crude just for the sake of it. Yes I know the original had some of that but it had I don’t know more innocence and charm? The only couple parts I got a laugh at was the lottery scene and the return address scene.
I get to be "Debbie Downer" here. This thing didn't come close to the first one. Mother nature wasn't kind to Kathleen Turner/Fraida. Check her out in "Romancing the Stone" with Michael Douglas for verification.
