It's nice seeing other climbers take runs at your sets. It was fun and gave it more context.

Good idea showing how others do/struggle with the problem.
You made it look so easy... seeing some of them struggle, I finally realized how steep that wall is ^^'

Great video. Nice too se other people trying it and how differently they approach it. And I definetily agree that complexity affects the grade.

That is a really cool problem. It was great seeing other people climb it. That really gave it great perspective!

What a brilliant experiment and conversation. And I 100% agree with you - complexity totally makes a difference in the grade. However, I also recognize that pretty much our entire community of non-nerd rock jocks seems to miss this point. And I think that this is a general challenge. I think that this issue may stem from the culture of climbing when bouldering and route grades were invented - complex sequences and lines were just starting to be discovered. Having been climbing since close to the beginning of the V-grades (1992), a time when US climbers didn't even understand or really utilize "turning" unless one was at the top of the field, I saw this first hand. And watched as the way we sequenced and strategized got more and more focused on climbing movement and a diverse set of skills, and lenses to analyze such movement. It's actually kind of fascinating... It's like you could see each generation reanalyzing outdoor terrain and "climbed out" venues were revitalized with each generation's new perspectives with their newer skilsets. As you can see this sequencing and movement is my forte/passion and this is why I'm so super excited about this video. Well done! and thanks! Oh and a shout out to some guide book authors like the Brits from "rockfax" who tried to add these concepts to route descriptions by describing them with icons describing the "needs" from sequency, to powerful or scary etc...

Absolutely agree. It has been really cool watching the younger kids establish some really unique boulders in areas that had previous been deemed “tapped out”

This was very interesting to see how different people try the climb. Got to take the time to read the route!

Agreed. If I left in everyone’s route reading time the video would have been at least 30 minutes long lol

Great video! Excellent point on complexity affecting v-grade, especially in the context of competition. Loved seeing the variety of climbers make the attempt.
Complex boulders are definitely my favorite kind of climbing. Having to make micro adjustments and puzzling out the sequence makes for a great project!
