Beocord 5000: Replacing the Belts

This video is about the replacement of the five drive belts in a Beocord 5000 (4715/4716). The video shows ho to take the tape drive out, how to disassemble it for exchanging the belts, and how to reassemble the drive and how to put it back into the enclosure.

Great work on this extremely complex machine. I've got Beocord 5000 3 - head edition same design & mechanics. It still works & I don't dare to open.

Good Video, I just bought one of these decks at a record store. Its non functional.
It powers on but it appears the tape heads are locked in the play position with a Tape still in the deck. Can't even remove the tape as the heads are fully engaged and won't release. I think the belts are broken too. I might take a crack at fixing it after seeing this video. Thanks.

Just curious... been sing a few listings for the 5500 and I'm really itching to get one after some great experiences with my BeoGram RX 2. Are the belts needed relatively the same?

Do you have exact details measurement of the belts?
Especially the capstan belt and the Turntable round belt.
