  • Peter Waters G3OJV, from Waters and Stanton takes a further look at this antenna design and shows some typical bandwidths and VSWRs.
Ready made designs from MyAntennas are available from the Waters & Stanton web site. Check out
    hamradiostore....
We reckon this antenna design is a better option than the G5RV and a lot easier to feed.

I did buy one of these half-wave end-fed antennas with the 80-meter coils and I must admit I was surprised how well it works in my small garden, many thanks for the information.

Thanks for this, it's a practical affirmation of the theory presented in the first video. I would recommend this series to anyone interested in End Fed Half Wave antennas. I'm off to watch the third in the series now!

Tnx for the video, Peter. As many others I am using the EFHW-8010 antenna, and I am using it more or less without my atu on the lower portions of 80, 20 and on the entire 17, 30 and 40 mtr bands. 12 mts needs tuning at my location. The vswr on 15 and 10 is at it's best on the higher ends of the bands. So all in all concidered, the half wave antenna surely works fb. 73 de LA6YJA.

Hi. Curiosity, do or did you notice any common mode or Rx noise vs a balanced other?

Thank you for this interesting video
By the way , Excellent choice of shirt as it does merge with the gray hair , all in all ... very good style/background ...
Back to the Antenna ... wider Broadband raises concerns about higher noise and interference ...
So please tell us more about (noise / interference) susceptibility VS Dipole ..
Specially around the 40 meters band ... assume both Antenna's has the same test conditions (i mean .. length / material / height above ground / polarization ...ETC)..

Peter, what kind of ground or counterpoise are you using with that antenna?

Simple answer - neither! Just direct coax feed.

I would love to buy a couple of antennas from you Peter but every twenty euro becomes sixty euro
