I LOVE YOU!! This is this first video I’ve found that said beginner and actually treated me like a beginner rather than a person who already knew my notes! Thank you! I’m 53 and I completely suck (today is my first day) but I will absolutely stick with it until I rock! Again, thank you!
Thank you. Thank you. My oldest wanted to learn sax during covid but had no patience for music class. Your lessons have been amazing and really helped inspire and further his interest. God speed.
Hi teacher, I'm turning 75 early next month. You really got me interested to learn to play the saxophone. Getting a 2nd hand Jupiter Alto saxophone tomorrow. Your method of teaching is very precise. Thank you.
I’m a student in band and i started sax about a month ago. I’m VERY VERY flat and my teacher has considered taking me out. your video is helping me understand what to actually do correctly ❤
Thank you. I'm a retired string teacher who's always wanted to play Jazz winds but has been very busy. I've just been hired by a tiny district who couldn't fill their part-time first year elementary band position. Your teaching is spot-on. It's extremely clear and direct. With that register shift up to D and some logical extension down the scale I just played a rather slow Mr PC. I am stoked. We start band a month from now, in October. I've been practicing flute and trombone, now adding alto sax to my daily practice. This is going to go beyond me and help a lot of 5th graders. Again, thank you!
This was so helpful!!! Thank you so much! I’m 12 and am going into 7th grade, I plan on joint band and playing the alto sax. I want to prep myself before I start band by already knowing a few notes and this was so helpful!
Thank you teacher Ramon!!!!, I´m from Mexico, I´m living in Mexico City, i´m 43 years old but I´m very glad that even my age I´m starting to learn saxofon!!!! And to can find really good teachers like you!!!! In fact I'm also about to get my English diploma jajaja Blessings!!!!
Hi Ramon. I've just rented an alto saxophone to try out, and see whether I enjoy it. I'm coming from the flute, so having that experience is an asset, even though the fingerings are not inter-changeable. I just wanted to let you know that this lesson alone, was more descriptive and helpful for me than a dvd I purchased along with the rental sax. For that, you should be proud. You cover what to do, how to do it, and what you may encounter as a first-timer.
Started learning to play the sax some couple of months. I was almost giving up till today I stumbled into this great teacher, I am staying right here. 😊 Thanks Ramon, you're the teacher I have been looking for.
I literally just started today cause my mom gave me a Sax for my birthday bc I’ve alway thought it is an amazing instrument, and this video really helped me a lot. The first time I tried a sax I wasn’t even able to make it sound 😂 I’m a guitar player btw, so a complete different instrument is a lot of fun!
Uhhh @Marybeth O, if she doesn’t want to play, she doesn’t want to play. It might wreck the experience in band, and I think you don’t want that. She’s probably not going to want to play and that would probably make you mad.
@Marybeth O You're right, they are a better parent than you. Stop making your child play music if they don't want to. They can make their own decisions. If you don't respect that, maybe you should reconsider putting your child through everything you want them to.
I just got my sax today!! I started with flute, but because my school does jazz band, I wanted to be featured more so I got a saxophone !! I’m sooo hyped to start learning!!
Thank you! Great introduction. Only 52 years since I last played - my parents sold my sax when I left home to go to university. A new one arrives ........ tomorrow!! Or Wednesday? Can't wait.
Sir... I have had my 🎷 sax for 3 weeks now . And all the videos I have watched.. yours sir have been the most helpful!!! THANK YOU 🙏 LEARNING B,C,D is such an accomplishment. From Houston tx.. sir I appreciate this video.
Thanks Ramon, I am 57 and I got my first sax a couple of weeks ago, to be honest I did not even knew from wich side to blow, thanks for making it simple.
This is a great help! Today was my first day playing an instrument EVER, but you treated me like I didn't know anything (which I didn't) and this really helped me. Thank you!
My 10 year old son has enjoyed your video!! He got his saxophone and has now been practicing B, C, and D all evening!! Your video is by far the most helpful in finger placement, part names and just overall beginner friendly! We also wanted to congratulate you on your weight loss!! Absolutely incredible!! We did want to ask if you had any other resources you would recommend for alto saxophones? Any sheet music for beginners or channels, other videos etc! We would also pay for lessons, but we live in such a rural area, that there's not a music teacher or trainer for his instrument! Thank you in advance! Happy New year and best wishes!!!
Thanks allot for making this video. I checked several tutors and musicians, this one is the best..no time wasted and no prolonged conversations. Just perfect. Cheers
picked up a sax from a garage sale intending it for my daughter. tried and got the hang of it =) guess that's my sax now. thank you for sharing! So.... where's lesson 2?
This is a great video. I’ve purchased my first 🎷 and it will arrive tomorrow. I’m so excited to learn to play it for the first time and I’ll be watching your videos for some tips of course 😊
Dear grate sir. Thanking from Sri Lanka.I received this 1st lesson from you. Yesterday only i bought a sax even without knowing how to hold it. But i know that now. God bless u dear sir.(2024)❤
Just subscribe to your channel!!! You truly explain it very well!!!! I’m 28 and and started to play the 🎷 thanks so much!!!!! Im glad I came across the right person!!! Hands down 🙌🏽
I'm currently considering my first wind instrument ever (I've been playing keyboards for 50 and guitars for almost 40 years, so there's some foundation anyway... 😜) and it will be an alto saxophone. This is the first video I found that starts at level "total noob" and no doubt I'll refer to it often once I get tootin'! 😀🙏
Been looking to get back playing my sax after over 30 yrs started playing in the 4 grade, l had the pleasure of playing alto, tenor and baritone sax as well. Nice video to get back started, not to much content out there that is good.. Starting over at 62….
When learning clarinet in 6th grade (with a sax player at the same time), the teacher had us just get used to the producing smooth tones and "tonguing" with the reed/mouthpiece only... bypassing a lot of squeaking... ;-)
Hey man I gotta say thanks. I’m in college and I’m taking woodwind tech and sax was giving me a rediculous amount of trouble. Turns out I was pressing the wrong keys in the left hand and your video showed me I was. You’re a g man
Lol our school did when we were in third grade then in fourth grade we do guitar fifth grade we did piano and then we got to middle school you got to choose my instrument you got to play from the band
Thank you for your lesson on playing these three notes on the saxophone. I just bought an Alto Saxophone, and this is the lesson that I am going to use to get started with my saxophone note playing and exercise.
Been playing drums most of my life, I've dabbled in guitar and piano for a few months each but could never stick with it. I've got a sax coming in a few days and I'm hoping the different style of instrument will hook me, thanks for the lesson!
i've wanted to play saxophone since seventh grade but was forced to do clarinet. As much as I love my clarinet and will continue to play it leisurely, I'm finally able to pick up saxophone at twenty years old. when i started i had to experiment with emboucher to get the right sound and figure out how to tune. the mouthpiece positioning was helpful XD I struggle the most with memorizing fingerings as i have a learning disability that makes it difficult but other than that I love the instrument and I'm excited to keep learning
Thanks. This video really helped. It’s my second day every handling the Saxophone and I was able to play the B, C, and D notes. Although I run out of air easily but I guess that will get better with time. What can I do to enhance that though ?
Hi! We love your approach to teaching! Our son plays the saxophone. I wanted to know if you would add more videos, so that our son can continue to progress with the Sax?
Greetings, astute teacher. I acknowledge your down to earth pattern of teaching. I will be elated if I would have access to more of your lessons for beginners like me. Thank you.

Thanks bro! Used to play in Elementary and High School! I’m 34 now and have a sax again! Ready for lesson two! I got my mouth position and sound on point!
Just started today. I am 76! This is going to be a great help thank you

Yo hows it been? I started playing about 8 months ago
I played the alto sax in my middle school band. Was 2nd chair. That was 1995. I’m thinking of taking it up again. Thanks for this refresher lesson ☺️
