Hey Jeff won’t let me put my contact info in the comments but hopefully people will be able to find me some how. Hope the saws does good for you. China cylinders are soft. But went the extra step to over chamfer the ports when I was done. Bearings on these china saws dont actually seem to be that bad. Time will tell. Hope that 2511t treats you better now as well. 💪🏻 also to add this 020t is built to LAST and saws still running 3/8p lots more to be had with 1/4p
Nicely done! 🤘 Was wondering if you could've done large tops rigged for straight down swing/drop on the tips, then let the butt down. I'm certainly no expert but it occurred to me that might've been an option.
I built a Farmertec 660 in Dec 2020 and a 460 in Jan 2022 (big bore 82cc with case trenching and lower transfer matched). Both have some factory parts from the Stihl dealer. Both were finished and assembled with care. They have been used for work. They still run super!
I have a 660 clone that I used on one "job" - a friend's extra-large Live Oak storm blow down. Rattled something loose in it and it didn't want to start after that. I haven't needed it for anything my real Stihl 362 with a 24" bar and skip tooth chain couldn't get through but I do need to get it working for some big ass Douglas Fir on my property. Most of what I do is lug my 362 through the forest to clear trails so I'll take the lighter weight saw even if the 660 would be faster. If I was made of money I'd probably get a 500i but most of the other sawyers in my group use the 362s right now so it makes for easy part sharing in the wilderness. I went with the Echo 2511T 1/4 pitch setup so that's ~$665 to your ~$400 (you didn't say how much the porting was)... but that's not a great comparison with what a Stihl 200/201 can cut through on the stem vs the little Echo. You've got the more versatile saw. Good gut move on that Maple. Don't hit the precious other trees full of mistletoe? Sure, very precious.
Thought about getting one of those and doing some work to it but I have a few climbing saws and ain't had that great a luck with the China top handle I have. The plastic and frame of the saw is cheap. Can't tell you how many times I've had to jb weld it back together

Enjoyed the "real life" video. Shows some of the dangers we face. Thanks for sharing. That saw ought to last another video anyways😏😁😁.
