I was a light rail train operator in Dallas a few years ago (DART), and had someone run in front of my train as I was leaving Union Station. He was high, and trying to get onto the platform to catch my train. I was so upset because I’d come within a foot of hitting him. I feel for Karen and her situation. On another note, three weeks ago, I was in London. I absolutely love their public transport.

Here at New York City Transit, we call the discussed circumstances a "12-9". We use a radio code system starting with 12s, like the police and thier 10 codes like "10-4"

Having taught English in China, I have a very hard time believing that a Chinese person of that age does not speak any English...

The gentleman is correct [ 16:18 ], people that try to commit suicide by jumping before a train callously and selfishly have no regard for the effect it has on those that witness the attempt and those that have to clean up the mess afterward and a train driver may witness more than one attempt during their careers.

I have witnessed someone trying to run across the track while there was a train stationary at the station and the driver said he has witnessed so many people attempt to jump in front of the train and that.

The yellow line on the platform is far too close to the platform edge.

The platforms are mega thin too. I think in the early 20th century there were a lot less people in the world and London. My friends are in London at the moment. They say they’re not using the tube, but I bet they do, as there’s one near their air b&b. We lost phone connection earlier, so they were probably on then.
