The great thing about Mac Demarco is that his live shows sound exactly like the records he puts out. He's not selling smoke, what you hear in his records is the real shit.

As Mac starts singing the song dedicated to his girlfriend, the mustaches of the two guitar players suddenly came off their faces and scurried to the floor. For they were not really mustaches, they were in fact, CATERPILLARS. And as Mac danced, so did they.

I don't know who the sound engineer is at KEXP but they deserve an award because both the live performances in studio/on radio and performances like these always sound beyond incredible. Never heard an artist sound bad on KEXP

I remember when Mac lived in Vancouver ( before he moved to Montreal) he lived in my neighborhood. Almost everyday when I walked by his home, I would smell marijuana coming out from his windows. Mac and his roommates were heavy users. He's a cool dude though.

First time I saw him live Andy his guitarist jumped right on top of me and played his guitar and on the last song I snuck up on stage and stage dived.... I would say it was a great concert

I saw Walter TV (consisting of the bassist and drummer) and Tonstartssbandht (the guitarist) in Harrisonburg, VA a week ago. It was incredible. They are a awesome, humble group of dudes. It's funny to see them all together in one band with Mac.
Just saw them both last night here in Portland too! Pierce is a sweetheart. ;) Tonstartssbandht were amazing.

They also both feature a lot of "jangly" chords, with higher fretted and open strings mixed in.
the smiths has a great influence on him, he even talked about a Morrissey concert in one of his interviews
