*This live performance from Chris is so so good. I'd much prefer an acoustic live version like this over the studio version. I can't stop listening to this. I have it on repeat. This song got me through a really bad break up nearly 2O years ago. I will forever love DC and Vindicated.💯%*
Its Wednesday 15th May 2024 and I can't stop listening to this great song. It got me through a very bad break up nearly 20 years ago. Such a great song, I can't stop listening to it. It brings back so many great memories.
I listened to this song so much when it came out, I was 14 in highschool. Still sounds amazing. It always reminds me of my first girlfriend, love her to death but man she was crazy. I feel like his emotion In his songs resonate with me on a emotional level. To go from thinking about a past relationship to thinking about losing my nephew to losinga great friend I grew up with. His pure emotion in his voice drags all of those memories and emotions to mind. Gotta love what music can do
Letting this song wash over me during the Spider-Man 2(2004) end credits, during the afterglow of that incredible film, is one of the best, most satisfied movie vibes I've ever had. Perfect pick for that film, and perfect fit for an acoustic B-side.
So I am a musician. In 2003 I was in college. I met a girl that was a dashboard fan. She gave herself and the world of this band. We went our separate ways, but this song reminds me of her. I haven't been able to write a song that reflects our time to this day. Thank you for what you were.
for me yea its not about his voice and it always never been , its about the meaning of the song and how he put the emotion that you can relate enough to in it, he's still goof as before except for his voice it really changed a lot since ive heared him a lotta years ago
One thing I love about this artist, he means what he sings. Even he sound he's not singing, he delivered the song to the audience. This song and Stolen are his few songs that brought back 2000s nostalgia, powerful songs. edit: and he wrote this in minutes for Peter Parker's life.
Maybe they were just in awe of that voice(and face), what were they supposed to do, sing over him? Honestly if I was there I would be sat in silence trying to absorb that masterpiece of a voice ...its truly something else
DC isn’t even my “bag of popcorn,” but this is literally one of the greatest things to grace the fuckin internet....... Coming from a Mountain Goats fan.
He’s not the best vocalist I have seen but he’s such a good performer, hearing his cracks and imperfections really brings the song to life. It makes you realise any musician can make mistakes and it makes me more comfortable for when I mess up live. No auto tune just raw emotion and shows how human he is.
Love this version with all the perfections and imperfections, so refreshing listening to this after all these years. A lot of over produced shiit out there killing music
I know he doesn't sing like he used to, but I feel that he is able to give these songs even more emotion because of that. It's not as horrible as everyone is making this out to be.
I remember that mtv unplugged in 2002...they never made it into the mainstream music?! ...but I guess that’s a good thing, only us few that listen to them, deserve them!
If you like this song this is an absolutely transcendent performance but if you didn’t like it to begin with it’s probably ten times worse than the original. The extra accent he puts in to the vocals just seems to push the dial in one direction or the other.
Such an amazing time to be alive. Couldn't remember the song name, just part of the lyrics. Googled them and got the song. Listened to it and thought *man an acoustic version of this would be amazing* and it exists already :D
Its really different compare to todays music...no auto tune needed ...pure voice, pure talent, emotions of lyrics were undeniably express ...very cool to hear yet its heavy
13yrs from now still gives me goosebumps when he sing this..
agreed! especially in a performance like this one.
It has been 19 years

What I like about DC and songs like this one or Hands Down, is the energy that they transfer. Like an explosion from the heart.
"This song is called 'Spiderman 2..'" haha
P Aolo its vindicated men. haha
P Aolo Yeah! Spiderman 2 is my most fave spiderman movie. And i think, it's with the best soundtracks too.
That's what he whispers at the beginning!
P Aolo HAHAHAHA!
indeed! Same goes with Jet's "Hold On"
Chris is an amazing vocalist. He puts so much emotion into his singing

They wrote the song after watching that movie.
The emotion in the chorus will never not give me goosebumps
"Sometimes to do what's right we have to be steady and give up the things we want the most - even our dreams"

This song reminds me of her dirty blonde hair, unkempt in the morning.
That was sad, I totally feel that man
0:37 to 1:09
Superb exibit of mic control, adjusting the distance to get the most out of it... clearly experienced.
2024 took me back to my teenage years just 3 mins!!
happy 20th bday, Vindicated!

this is one of my #1 favorite songs of all time
That crowd doesn't deserve this performance. They don't know how amazing Dashboard really is...
Literally the best performer I've ever seen.

13 years later he has still got it and also i was born in 2004 so this was one of the songs i grew up with and by the way i heard this in spider man 2
Oh my. Heartfelt performance on another level.

His voice! Better than ever!

His low range is really flat but his high range is so awesome and unique.
Tyler Tyler I agree and it really adds to the melancholy feel
Actually in the beginning he is in a low head voice and jumps up to distorted mix. He does a great job of taking you on a musical journey
sounds like he's hurting a lot
He’s playing it a step down from the recording so yea the lows are iffy.
He is a tenor so it makes sense to not have strong lows.
Love this song! Still does the same thing now as it did all those years ago. Goosebumps man goosebumps! 💔
Love this version with all the perfections and imperfections, so refreshing listening to this after all these years. A lot of over produced shiit out there killing music
Que voz, una voz poderosa.
I know he doesn't sing like he used to, but I feel that he is able to give these songs even more emotion because of that. It's not as horrible as everyone is making this out to be.
I agree.. I havent heard him in years and this is the first I've heard of his voice since over 10 years ago and it has definitely changed..
