Can't blame people tbh. The series is about getting as many different types of games in there as possible. It's a game where we have a bird riding atop a dog battling it out with a bounty hunter wearing an alien exoskeleton.
"Unjustfully hated" is a very one-sided perspective. The Fire Emblem cast in smash bros is hated for a very justful reason, being: There are a total of 8 fire emblem characters in smash bros, 8 of which use swords as their main weapons, earning them the title of "Another anime swordfighter". Firstly we have the first problem: Fire Emblem is overrepresented in smash bros. Most people didn't even know what fire emblem was before they begun playing SB, and for there to be 8 characters? That's almost 3 times as much as the Kirby series, 4 times the amount of Final Fantasy, 4 times the amount of Street Fighter, and 8 times the amount of Sonic characters! Secondly, the series is extremely poorly represented. Byleth and Robin are the only ones that use a weapon that isn't a sword, even though sword is their main weapon. This is bad because Fire Emblem is about defeating your enemies using different weapons, so having basically every single character only use swords is pretty garbage. Lastly, echoes: The main issue is that fire emblem characters are super boring is smash ultimate. Firstly we have Marth and Lucina, which are copies of each other, same moves and everything, except for a difference in sword hitbox. Chrom and Roy which are copies of each other, except for some tweaking in speed and hitbox, and a different up special attack. Then we have Ike, he is somewhat original (compared to the other FE characters), but his up b is a straight up copy of Chrom's. Then we have Corrin, while his specials are unique, his regulars irritatingly resemble the rest of the cast. The same goes for Robin. At last we have the most hated character of all Smash Bros, Byleth, which has all of their moves be original compared to the rest of the cast, but they're still just another anime sword fighter, and an addition to the huge bundle of FE characters. Imagine instead of having all of these useless characters we could've replaced some of them with highly anticipated characters! In conclusion, instead of introducing a cast of unique characters into the game, they instead decided to push sales for a game no one's ever heard of by adding 8 variations of the same character into the game. Saying it's unjustfully hated might be the most ignorant thing you can possibly say about this whole mess.
