Around ten years ago i used to to listen to this album a lot. I used to have a speaker under my pillow and I would listen to this song in particular as i drifted off to sleep each night. Subconsciously i must have been listening to the lyrics because i would always have this really vivid dream about two lions who were deeply in love but were separated by this raging river (the nile obviously) until eventually they both jumped into the river to be with each other despite knowing they would die. It was over 10 years but to this day it's still the most memorable and emotional dream I've ever had.
Wow, what a dream. Great imaginations. Wonder what your thoughts about this dream after few years perspective. Situations we have been, after few years, seems so distant from us, although than was a tramandus part for us.
I had to stop listening to Jason for a bit because his songs are so emotional they would feed my depression and bring up thoughts about a girl that broke my heart. But I feel strong enough to listen to his amazing work again without crying through it all. Thanks for all you gave us through your pain.
I used to wonder “why is he so underrated, why is him not recognized as one of the best musicians ever?” The answer is simple, his music is so special that only very special people feel it. He is a lost gem, a lonely lost soul as us listening to him.
Just discovered this today... I am completely upside down. It moves me in ways I cannot describe yet, I feel a strange and comforting complicity in the pain and the poetry. I think it scares me.
damn I would give anything to see Him Live! The Lioness was prob. my favorite album by him, every song blended so well, as like a theme. sad we dont see more artists and albums that do that!
Yeah, that didn’t work out so well. I did get to see him perform before he passed, though. Shook his hand after the show and told him he was one of my favorite songwriters. Glad I got that opportunity.
You know what? Spotify just threw this at me 3 hours ago and I have been listening to it in loops, feeling the pain getting stronger and deeper gradually. I ledgit did not want to look him up. I was afraid of seeing a RIP...

RIP, as a lonely freshman in Bloomington Indiana in 1998, you were always nice enough to take the time to talk to me. Very saddened to hear the news.

It's been years, but he's always been my comfort
Just found out about this guy and bought 3 of his albums. This album, 'The Lioness' is excellent.
I used to wonder “why is he so underrated, why is him not recognized as one of the best musicians ever?”
The answer is simple, his music is so special that only very special people feel it. He is a lost gem, a lonely lost soul as us listening to him.
this is such a beautiful way of looking at it, thank you for sharing
He's ours. He's forever ours.

At 2:16 he confuses himself with his own beauty. He was so effing beautiful. There is so much tragedy in his death.
David Sumtinelse What do you mean? It appears he’s just trying to back off to create the loud vs quiet effect.
@@TravisKearney I don't know. I was probably projecting. It was a long time ago. Still love this song though.
