    Thanks for the added engine detail, it really helps! I’m making this one as the 145 rally Mustang in A Man and a Woman, the wife’s favorite film.

      @@RightOnReplicas thank you for replying Doug. Have been a subscriber for only three months and I'm impressed with your builds. The B17 was especially impressive with the final presentation. It takes me back to the late 70s earily 80s when the kits were $2-3.00 and my parents had to buy my paint and glue. Thanks for the memories.

    Couple things...
    Because of the upholstery detail and dash gauge layout this model replicates a Mustang GT COUPE. A little research would produce plenty of detail pics for stripes and interior patterns for the cool two-tone GT interiors. Nice work!

      @bullitt3980 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually the model isnt a GT it has the deluxe "Pony" interior. The 5 gauge dash was standard in 1966. The glove box and gauge mount panels should be woodgrain and the interior 2 toned.

    I had this kit in 1967!
    You’ve made me want to rebuild it using some of you tips!
    Just wish they were not so expensive. 😟
    Not sure how much you price your kits at but in the few model shops left up here, this model is priced between $25 and $30 (CDN).

    • @RightOnReplicas
      @RightOnReplicas  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      BC, $32 CAN is about what we would pay for that knid of kit if it were new new on the shelves but let's face it; all scale models are getting more expensive. That's why it's good to have reviews available so you can at least avoid the problem areas are and complete your build! -Thanks

    • @Wild-Dad

      @@RightOnReplicas thank you for the advise.
      It is sad that the hobby has become so expensive. I remember when I started buying my own models back in the early 70's (as opposed to what you'd get as a birthday or Christmas present).
      I know my car, and aircraft kits were single digit prices. The most expensive model I ever got back then was Monogram's Saturn V-Apollo. That model cost my parents $20 in 1970. I worked all summer cutting lawns to pay for it. I still have it.

    • @RightOnReplicas
      @RightOnReplicas  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      BC, We've only done it to ourselves. Back then a cup of coffee was a dime now it $1.79. A doctor visit was $20. Yikes, but even worse: water was free and so was television! PT Barnum was right! -Doug

      @@RightOnReplicas then im out of luck. this is a rare annual kit from circa 1968. my only chance is the sale of a large older kit collection or someone selling one because they need the money.
      it will cost me $200+ if i can find a complete one.
      if you know anyone who sells model kits retail, ask them about this one and you will see.
      thanks for responding.

    Those tyres look way too big, like flotation tyres you find on big trucks. Other than that, the finished product looks good considering the age of the kit and its lack of details.

    The tires are too big for the body!

    • @RightOnReplicas
      @RightOnReplicas  ปีที่แล้ว

      Lance, The kit came with some street custom tires that are definitely bigger than the stock ones. Then again they aren't really out of range. Quite often back then as tire manufacturers were producing larger tires they would be the best choice for performance minded drivers when it was time for a new set of skins. AMT even included a set of racing slicks in this kit that would require opening up the wheel wells. It's really whatever the builder wants to do!. I hate to say this but this kit is not good.
    I hope one day, AMT retools this kit and takes this model and builders serious !
    I swear some of the American car model co.'s do NOT care about quality and "think" the majority of their customers are still kids. MOST car model builders are grown men. My biggest pet peeve with this Mustang kit is how high it stands AND for this particular kit, there is nothing you can do to lower it unless you don't mind it looking stupid underneath. Very disappointed.
    Today's technology, this shouldn't be a monumental task for amt to retool the most popular cars. HELLO !?

    • @RightOnReplicas
      @RightOnReplicas  ปีที่แล้ว

      HH, Some kits are better than others that's for sure but let's face it; AMT and Revell are issuing these old kits with little investment to use the profits to develop their other lines like Star Wars, Gundam and Star Trek kits. As sales drop off (like us older builders) they'll offer them less and less to concentrate on the others. It's just business! -Doug
