Shameful behaviour destroying peoples businesses. This is not development this is lawlessness. They should act with wisdom not brutally. This sort of behaviour put people of building or doing business in African!

Some of the demolition they are doing certainly would not meet health and safety standards. They knocked down railings to stop people falling off steps . They are removing plants and nicely kept gardens and just leaving an absolute mess plants and trees that supply oxygen to the air . The roads are going to look poor no trees or gardens . Definitely not a lot of thought went into this. Where are people supposed to park are they making car parks for people to park in ? Certainly think the Gambian government needs to think a bit more . Who is responsible for tidying all the mess they are leaving behind ? Definitely unfair on the people.

Well thought, the question is who’s going to be responsible for complete cleaning of mess themselves are creating? And after cleaning the mess are they going to build better roads and footpaths roads for easy traffic? If they are not doing that then this is going to go down as most useless operation.

Gambia better be the safest most beautiful African country in the world after all of this mess. Parking lots, wide paved roads, sidewalks, and trash disposal proper water drainage for Rainy season for real. They can't afford to lose any trees is dusty enough already the air quality sucks.

Adama Barrow's demolition team has absolutely no idea what a mess they are making. I agree that some streets needed to be cleaned. But to completely demolish beautifully landscaped streets that looked really nice and leave them in a mess is unthinkable. And I think the worst thing is that nothing is done at all, if they were to renovate the streets then it would be understandable, but I am convinced that it will remain a mess. It seems to me like bullying the population just because they have taken the land unlawfully. And now they are being bullied again in this way. Then they send a team of police and soldiers and an official who keeps telling the same stupid story, and at the end of the story all the streets will look as if there has been a civil war. Good job Barrow, good job🤦‍♂🥴👏

I have never seen Anywhere in the world that type of law. you cannot park your car on raod. but where can people park if government or locagal government have not make any plan for Gambian people. I didn't really understand there work. because Even in Germany or Italy they'll so you that you park here and the other side they sure u not but in the Gambia people shouldn't park anywhere. even there work place. i never seen that in any other countries that mean people cannot go work with there car. if they said you can't park car at raod but still they cannot tell you where to park this is crazy really.

How come American Embassy has protected and the UN building does not ? Think about that. Also dwellings belonging to a certaint businessman are not touched. Go to Bakau and see the demolition going on. Even a Church has been asked to demolish part of its frontage. But walk a little further down same line and the business mans frontages are paved right up to the road and still in tact. How are they doing their work. What’s the purpose of building roads when you don’t have a place to park your vehicle when you reach your destination. I understand what they doing is good but the environment doesn’t permit no parking on the road side. That means you will have to park your vehicle and walk to your destination or else your vehicle will become a burden to you.
