      The first painting that I did was Bob’s very first one (season 1 episode 1). I found it pretty simple. The only thing that I had trouble with was the tree with the 1 in brush(maybe 2 in I can’t remember). Do you have any videos of painting trees with a 1 in brush?

    • @jos5ph
      @jos5ph 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Easiest... there are 2 that I can think of... both black canvas and could of been part of this list if it were the 12 easiest... lol... Winter Birch... and... a forest painting using white, black and gray gesso... let it dry and then colorize it.. or not... anyway.. Thanks for all your good videos

    After attempting to do one of Bob's paintings on my own, with an awful mess, I looked to see if there were an Bob Ross certified instructor's in my area. Much to my surprise I found one that taught classes a half hr away. The painting we done was #2 on this list "Old Home Place". It was well worth the $60 for the class, which included everything to do a 16" x 20" painting in 5 hrs time. The only thing we needed to bring was paper towels, baby wipes, and the will to learn.

    I'm so glad I found you!! There are so many things that I've had struggles with but I've had some great successes too. Great job on your explanations and tips!! While Watching one you referenced to in this video, that light bulb in my head went off... you had talked about using a paper towel to wipe off excess paints to make better clouds, mountains, and pretty much make your paint stick better... Awesome!! Thanks! Also, yes I think you should do... (if you haven't already) top 10 hardest but also top 10 most colorful or least colorful as well...

I will eventually be trying all of them. This was a super helpful video. I also just ordered all the supplies to make acrylic liquid white and slow drying golden open landscape set. • @WildCreates
      @WildCreates  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure if it would still effect your energy and abilties BUT you can take a look at working with water mixable oil.... You dont need an solvents ( so no vapors ) and much healthier BUT to my nose they have a slight vapor scent that isnt that great ( but I have a sensitive nose ). Research that and see.
      I hope that helps

    Good video. I agree that Steve goes slower, thanks for sharing I forgot about that video. I've been wanting to do a spring painting and you've given me a few choices. Letting things tacky up is an amazing hack for adding layers. I often do that for my mountains and I get way better paint breaks.

    I went straight in to Grandeur of Summer - the 1hr long special as my first ever. It turned out pretty nice but it took me a good 5 to 6 hours!!
    My favourite to paint was northern lights S8E13 which also had the same cabin from winter mist! I agree with what you said about skipping the cabin I really ended up caking a lot of paint on until eventually I was happy with it (found that bit quite stressful lol whereas the rest of the painting was a joy).
    My favourite finished painting is probably from following Ocean Sunrise S5E6 which was done by Audrey Golden and I didn't find super complicated. It has a nice feeling to it

    I cracked up on # 9 when you said "women love girth". It put me in good mood the rest of the day. Is it possible that there are still "
    Bob Ross "kits" . It was what I used when I painted for the first time of my life. But also used a sty[e or book/magazine with instructions to look back over. I love the wet on wet technique which make the flow of the paint easier and mistakes are often easy to fix.By the way, I have no artistic talent and cannot draw a straight line. LOL

    What a fun video! Tropical Seascape, Campfire, Cabin in the woods, Golden rays of sunshine and Evening seascape all seem like tough paintings to do, especially those ocean waves. The “foliage” comment was hilarious…I keep saying out loud to you it’s “foll E edge” not “foil edge” only bc I have a degree in Horticulture hahahaha. But I forgive you and love you! • @WildCreates
      @WildCreates  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      99% correct. Paint your canvas with black gesso ( let it dry completely, about 10 to 15 mins ). Then ad a thin layer of liquid clear. Now you can add your base colors like blue or red. Now you can start painting.
      When you paint on top of these paints. it will pull the base color forward making awesome colors and effects.
      I hope that helps.

    What I don't understand is how hes using the wet on wet technique here.
    Does he paint a blank canvas with the aforementioned colors and then immediately do the painting? Do I not use liquid black or liquid clear at any time?

    • @WildCreates
      @WildCreates  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad to help - He most likely already added LC to the canvas to save on time for the painting. Just paint your canvas black with gesso ( let it dry completely ). Then add a very thin layer of LC. Then add your base colors ( the aforementioned Blue, Green, Etc ) Now when you paint on top of those... those color will pull forward or give an undertone of that value.
      I hope that makes sense
