    Brother Nick, I went to the event at Metro Cigars with Peter Worth yesterday. Cool event and I bought 10 sticks I was curious about. First one I smoked was the 20th. Anniversary. Great smoke output, outstanding sabor and a finish for days. Beautiful expression of your art. Peter is a great human, hooked me up with a few promo sticks for selecting 10 and I shared some of my vitolas with him. My Perdomo hoodie showed up yesterday and while it was not hoodie weather, I had to wear it. I walk in and some guy says, "The Perdomo Army is here." I put my hands in the air and turned slowly around to let everyone see the arm printing and the back Perdomo Tobaccalra emblem. Making a statement. Thanks for the great vitolas man. I see you have a Mike Mangini snare, I know the original guy Mike Portnoy, small world!

    I use all of them to some degree. My go-to is torch to toast and then soft to light the parts that toasting may have missed. I have a butane insert that does both soft and torch and fits into a Zippo style case and love it.
    But I smoke outside a lot so matches and ceder are not usually a good way to go. However, I'll never forget my first time trying ceder lol I thought I was gonna set myself and/or my house on fire 😂 That spill went up so fast. I figured it out but it was a learning experience to say the least.

    Great video! I often times have to re-light my cigars. I live in Florida, my humidor is at 70%, but because it has been so humid outside (74%) when we smoke over the course of an hour or so, our cigars feel spongey and often need re-light, should I lower my humidor to about 67% to have dryer cigars to start with as we smoke outside? Thanks!

    I hate to be the bearer of bad news, Nick. I worked at TSA for 11 years. I was Lead in Baggage. Butane lighters are not allowed in checked bags either. The gas is explosive. There is a case you can buy to put them in, however. Then they're ok. Without that case, if a baggage officer sees one while in your bag, it will get removed by the airline.
    We call the airlines, they come and get it. The good news there is, you can call the airlines if yours is missing and make arrangements to reunite yourself with the lighter.

    • @PerdomoCigars
      @PerdomoCigars  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @Drathaar01
      @Drathaar01 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@PerdomoCigars No problem, I'd hate to see you or anyone else lose their lighters. Yeah, you can have matches in your carryon bags, (except strike anywhere) but not checked bags. Matches get removed from checked bags and thrown into a hazmat bin. Those are never returned.
      Ok, here's an update. Since I left TSA, they changed the rules. No butane lighters on planes at all. Not even in the approved cases. No butane cans either, that's dangerous. I know a work-around, but since it could help terrorists, I won't say it online. It's not illegal though. I can tell you in person someday.

    @MINDSPARK-u6e 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Smoking a cigar is a luxury, so it should take you some time to light the cigar properly, just as you enjoy smoking a cigar you should also enjoy lighting it too.
    Using the cedar is fun, the cedar actually preserves the flavor far more greater than a lighter, match and you can taste an initial strong impact while lighting the cigar with cedar. Using the cedar you don't have to toast the cigar, you can get to the taste of the flavors right away
    The torch does a perfect job fusing the rapper and binder together to give you a nicely even burn

    Yup TSA will take your torch lighter!!! It passed thru from Newark NJ to Miami International, but on my way back Miami TSA took my two lighters! Had a Perdomo torch lighter that was a gift, and they confiscated it. I had a choice of going back down to baggage and pay an extra $50, so pissed off didn't bother!!! A**holes!!! Gotta order another Perdomo soon, lol ! ✌

    I like to light up $100 bills and light my cigar. Lol. But in all seriousness anyone try that wire lighter which glows red and you press your cigar againts it? Is that any good? Reason its electric and all you have to do is use electricity to charge it like a phone.
