Jaxson, You have one of the best trucking TH-cam channels there is out there, Most of them you can check out their full of B/S, Like hearing you sing every so often, I’m a retired trucker w/o 3. Million miles from central Fl. young man, Keep doing what you’re doing!!!❤
Learn something new everyday! Ole Joel is a wealth of knowledge. You’ve got to be so thankful to have him in your corner. Gonna be one solid diesel engine when you’re done, just like the others he’s done. Safe trucking out there ole son
Great video guy's. Also, enjoy Joe's knowledge and great attitude. It's the little things you know that can make a big difference. I'm looking forward to more build video.
This is where having oil analysis can help save an engine too. Knowing whatever’s metals show when. I know guys who are doing 200k plus mile oil changes from sending their oil out every 25k miles. Adding make up oil brings the base back up and saves money. Detroits are great. But the bk block is the best you can get for sure.
Learning the mind of a cow can take several years. With a good mentor, you’d become decent after a year, then the following several years you learn more and more as you go. Just hard to find someone who is willing to teach someone from scratch as it is a lot of work.
Joe what can you tell me about a 2006 ddec v says 12.7 but it has the plug in injectors like a 14L has. put a injector wiring harness in seems to have fixed my codes
Good question. They say the MK block is the best, this is my second gk.block, but the other one had oiler nozzles. I think in the end it’s more about the care you take care of your machine.
i have a 2000 12.7 detroit. oil temperature runs 200 degrees consistently. is that too high ?? or because it cools the pistons???? just wondering if cooler is shot or what?????
Get a ddc4 don't waste your time and money on that ddc3 if you do use nothing but genuine Detroit parts and keep it low horse power because them pistons will snap at the top believe me bother I know from experience $$$$$ the hard way good luck
I’m gonna take really good care of it and I think it’ll treat me good. You were probably whipping tar out of yours so it blew up 🤣 JK just kidding LOL This block has made it this far and looks great. I have a feeling it’ll be ok so long as I keep up my easy driving habits.
I've been running a 600 horse tune in GK models for many years. Never a problem.
That’s so great to hear! Thanks for sharing that. I drive super easy with these tuned up Detroits, I am hoping we ll ne a good match.

Smokey Joe!!!
If the aftermarket piston liners were crosshatched honed beforehand hardening it would not show much wear .
Been hauling tankers for 25 years, how long would it take to learn how to drive livestock?

Is that block better then the newer ones

No, nothing wrong with 200. That’s plenty cool. 👍🏼
@ thanks for replying. sounds good then!! enjoy your channel….
Nothing worse than sticking a leg outa bed 😂
There at the start of the first few minutes had me worried a little bit. I didn’t think Joe was going to get a chance to talk.
OH-IO Joe representing Ohio
So what your saying. The last owner operator was broke an tried to rebuild it himself.
It appears to me a mix match of parts that’s for sure!
A guy that believes in Detroits is Gentey and Son has a TH-cam channel ,
