@@thomassmith4467 no shit...I've just bought clone consoles and like ever drives for the systems...otherwise everything is backed up on hard drives to possibly play on PC or whatever. I grew up with the NES in the late 80s and never have I thought that anything more than original price is fine. If I wanted physical original games I'd never go higher than a few bucks per. At this point that's even too much. Aging hardware coupled with folks that are putting way too much value into nostalgia. I will say this though...there are suckers born every minute....and shops like these make bank off of them rofl.

@@joelockard7174 Make no mistake, a lot of that stuff is mental illness. I was at the pdx retro game convention, mag fest, nonsense ultra get together this past year in portland. Some middle aged man with a red Mario hat on haggled some dude down to 40 dollars on a boxed snes jeopardy tournament edition, while the lady he was with protested the entire purchase. I was just staring at the back of his head the entire time with what must have been wide open eyes. It was like he “needed” it and nothing could talk him out of it, even when she said “it’s going to sit on a shelf/you’ll never play it.” It was pretty disturbing. I’m honestly not sure if very many of these guys/gals aren’t just compensating for a lackluster adult life and going back mentally to when times were better. I do know this, I’m not going to go to another convention again for a few years. People were just weird. It’s becoming like a cult.

A lot of used games are priced $60 to $120. Some games like Klonoa is $700 used. That is insane. The game is not even that rare. Just scalpers buying them up and selling them high at ridiculous prices and then brining out another of the same game.
Wata Games is also guilty of getting the prices rising by lying how expensive they should be.
I've seen games behind the counter or in the case not move at all for years due to high prices, but they keep them there until someone somewhere is stupid enough to purchase it at such a stupid price, usually collectors with deep pockets and everyone else is just screwed.

All these people talk about emulators but what's the point of collecting if you can finish it in one night? I understand there convenient and work but collecting games is fun so don't hate on the prices of not just these games but all older games. At the end of the day it's a hobby and what people enjoy so don't think people are dumb and think they don't know emulating exists.

Reason the price is so high is only because its rare, other than that its likely a terrible game that isnt even worth emulating, only worth something to collectors.
