Hi, Dave! Found your channel from watching Homestead Uncontained. They mentioned you after winning a T-shirt rating you had. Our disabled son and I are watching your French drain video! Good stuff. Too bad the original builder built the house on grade, prone to flooding. Hopefully all your work eliminates that problem( not much of an issue here as we live in the Arizona desert ). Eric likes your excavator skills, stating you drag the bucket to fill it as opposed to curling it right away and never filling it completely, wasting effort like many other new operators. Thanks for sharing!

Well hello to you and your son - and welcome to the Channel. I enjoy using the mini excavator and it has certainly been a great addition to our small farm. Still lots to learn about operating it but very happy with it so far. Cheers Dave.

Hey Dave. Looking good (except for those wierd un-hang-able hooks that seemed designed by a six year old). 25 years ago I lined my entire shed with about forty sheets of 3600 high x 900 wide x19mm thick Yellow Tongue Structaflor (and then painted them white). Back then Sructaflor was much cheaper than now and it was the best thing I ever did in the shed (well, apart from painting the floor which helped brighten the interior of a well used 140 year old stringybark framed corrugated iron shed). With the Structaflor walls I just screwed in a screw whenever I wanted to hang something. If i want to put things on a shelf I can just screw a shelf (ie a piece of 150mmx 20mm pine and some supports) to the wall. Your system is much more formalised and a hell of a lot neater than mine but one thing I can say is that if you're like me and most of my mates you'll end up getting all those hooks lined up a lot closer together as time goes by so that you can hang more spanners and tools in the available space. PS, your light might seem too bright now but wait until a bit more age catches up with your eyes, you be glad you went bright.

Thanks Dave. I have a few sheets of the blue tongue left over from the mezzanine floor project and did at one stage think about using it (and painting it white!) Then I thought I should use it on the bench top but now I sort of like the metal white top on there now. Pretty thin metal though. Cheers Dave.

Agree. I have 19mm form ply pieces on several walls. Offcuts from Bunnings! Use screws to hang most things. Sometimes a wood block shaped with the bandsaw to hang odd things like planes or verniers. The blocks just screw to the ply. Used pegboard once, forever chasing the pegs. Ply is MUCH nicer. When the tools change or grow, moving the hanging screws around with the battery drill is a breeze. Who needs french cleats?
