Actually, my neighbor suggested that I turn the cylinder 180 degrees, that will put the grease nipple on the inside of the knuckle. I did that and that fixed the problem

Thanks for the advice! I might try that for myself. Cheers Dave.

I have found that the grease nipple on the outer knuckle that controls the bucket will drag the ground and get knocked off unless you're really careful. I'm not that careful.. I left the flush nipple in at that location.

Thanks Ken. Haven't done that as yet but can now see it could be an issue. Cheers Dave

G'day Dave, firstly... love your channel. I've picked up a bunch of tips that have helped me around my place, so thanks. On your recommendation, I recently purchased a MacNaught Minilube system but have also struggled sourcing the 2.5L Castrol Agri Grease... I can only find it in 450g or 20kg. Did you manage to find someone that stocks the 2.5kg in the end? Thanks.

I bought mine via Sparesbox. It still shows it for sale but maybe check if they have current stock. www.sparesbox.com.au/part/castrol-agri-grease-sse-ultra-2-5kg-3377646. I did just check but says no stock. You could go with the 'Premium Heavy Duty'. Looks to be the same (as discussed in Dave's comment above) and seems to be available from repco etc. Cheers Dave.

Hey Dave. You're right, I made all the nipples on my UME12 into the flush ones for speed and ease of getting the gun back off the fitting. It was a bit of a job since the flush nipples are not as easy to buy and to do them all meant getting three sizes, 6mm, 8mm and 10mm. I reckon the flush ones make my life easier but to assist me I have a flush fitting cone adapter that just plugs into the normal receptacle on the gun so I can very easily still use my gun for standard nipples when necessary. I also took that cone fitting end you showed that came with the toolkit and screwed a standard nipple into it so that I have an emergency adapter if I lose my proper one. You might think of doing something similar with the standard receptacle end that you took off your gun and screw a 1/8NPT nipple into it so that when it comes to doing those shrouded nipples you just plug your old end into the quick disconnect one and off you go. That way you won't have to unscrew and swap each time you want to use your old end in the tight spots. As to grease, I have the same minilube K7 gun/pail as you and it currently has a tub of Castrol Spheerol LMM (a moly one that I use on Jaguar balljoints) but frankly I don't think it matters what brand/type of grease you use, provided you grease often. If you grease regularly they'll all do pretty much the same job in these little diggers.

I think I will have to change from the AGRI soon as it is getting harder to find it. In fact I don't think it is even listed on the Castrol website anymore. The replacement will probably be the "Premium Heavy Duty' - even the description is a copy of the AGRI text. Stats are about the same for base oil viscosity and dropping point, still a mineral lithium complex non MOLY grease but the colour is blue instead of the darker green with the AGRI. Cheers Dave.
