WOW! An ST-225... the old ST-506 disks, they were SO SO slow (even compared to other drives of the time) but you could take them outside and have a game of footy with them and they'd still boot!
I haven't got a RC2014... so I've got no need for one of these but thanks very very much for telling me about Tindie... I'm having a browse round there later.
Nice to see there some geeks out there still playing around with CP/M... takes me back to my youth. :)
    Keep up The Great Work.

It's a shame it doesn't support ZIF HDDs

Twenty is a decimal, it should be two zero hex! After all, how would you say 2A?

how about a video card, even 6845/6847 or tms 9918?

+Stephen Walters yes a video card is sorely missing! Contemplating a few options...

Have a look at this: geoffg.net/terminal.html It is a VT100 terminal, so you only need to connect the RX/TX to get it to work. Source code also available if it needs tweaking.

Tzadvantage Bkk I'd like proper bitmap graphics support though, 320x200 16 colour minimum ideally with sprite and scrolling support

Leslie Anderson Yes the vdps used in the MSX computers are nice! Slightly worried that availability of them might be getting scarce though now. Re AY/YM, I've already done it, see my other videos :)

trilbyrollers. That resolution/color already needs about 128K of RAM. Would that not be difficult to access from the Z80. You need to update very carefully to prevent tearing. I think offloading the whole graphics stuff to a dedicated chip is easier to implement. There are lots of those available. A chip like the FT801 would support those resolutions and can easily connect to LCD's even with touch support. It also has sound support. Not bad for a single chip. The Propellor community and arduino also have several VGA solutions. Is the reason for a 'proper bitmap' to be software compatible with a certain computer?
