i am always amazed how good Artosis and Tasteless are at judging the Game Situation. You can really feel these years of experience when they go "He should be calling GG any minute now" and not 5 seconds after ggaemo GG's or when they correctly call a strat in the making during the first 2 minutes of a game. You guys are doing an amazing job!
I want to confirm what Tastosis said, but the translated interviews add a lot to the whole tournament experience. Especially since most of the broodwar players are older, they are just more interesting people, so being able to understand is cool.
I love seeing new faces in Brood War. I always like to cheer for the old champions like Flash and Bisu, but seeing new players coming and taking trophies is always great. I love watching sc2, but there's something about brood war that makes it even better for me
SPOILER: I absolutely loved watching Ggaemo. Firstly he was such a good sport in the beginning when he laughed at Snow saying "I'm not worried about the first match" (vs. him!). Then when he won his games his victory celebration was so honest. And just the way he played. He seems like a really stand-up guy and I'm going to be rooting for him the rest of the tournament.

So they made an agreement to cast it themself, and opened a patreon for anyone who wanted to chip in. With Afreecas permission they are allowed to cast them, however it still has to bee uploaded on the official channel, and its not live anymore but only vods Pretty much something like that. Maybe i missed something

I was so against Gaemo because I feel like hydra lurker contain makes for a bad game and it's cheesy but I'll defer to the archon's perspective, despite what I think hydra lurker isn't a cheese and he played 3 straight up games and he deserves to get through. Good job Gaemo

Gaemo put out AMAZING games. Really really unbelievable play in all 3. Snow hasn't adapted to these lurker contains, both of his games looked like the games he had vs soma that was so one sided it was nearly a perfect game from soma. He really struggles with the lurker contains and hasn't figured out a way to play against zergs doing it like mini has

They need to give Observers twice as much HP and shields to prevent ZvP from being so imbalanced. The matchup has become "set up Lurkers, have Overlords in the area, kill Observers with Hydralisks and Scourge, 1a2a3a4a, wait for the gg." And the tournament doesn't tend to "sort things out" as far as race distribution goes, at least not in recent years. S12 Round of 4: 2Z 1T 1P S11 Round of 4: 3Z 1P S10 Round of 4: 3Z 1 Random (Flash) S9 Round of 4: 2Z 2T S8 Round of 4: 2P 1T 1Z = the last time there were fewer than 2 Zerg in the semifinals. Lurkers are OP vs. Protoss due to weak Observers, and Defilers are OP vs. Terran due to the Terran race having _no freaking melee combat units._ No season of ASL since S1 has featured zero Zerg in the Round of 4.
Is there a reason that Terran players don't put a medic at a mining base that has been hit by a storm to heal up the scvs? I ask because Royal got stormed quite a bit and it seemed like having something healing units would have made them more resilient.

Why did ggaemo depart with his Hydras at 2:13:52 from SnOw's base? Was it that important to take down the Corsair, to the point where he allowed SnOw's wandering Zealots out?
In addition to a chance at catching the Corsair, I think it was also just to pull back tactically - ggaemo had not had vision in SnOws base for a decently long time (like, 5 minutes?), so didn’t know the specific timing for Reavers, Storm, or even if SnOw was just pumping out a bunch of Zealots/Dragoons - with only a dozen Hydralisks outside the base, if any of those had been the case SnOw would have been able to break out anyway, but then ggaemo would have lost a bunch of Hydralisks right before his lurker tech was done. That’s why once ggaemo cleared out the wandering zealots he put the contain back in place - from the movements he had enough confidence then that SnOw was not going all in, and he would actually be able to keep the contain up.
It seems like sometimes the observer remembers to switch the colors to red/blue, and sometimes forgets. IMO if it's not a mirror matchup, they should always keep the original colors.
They switch in certain scenarios. If the colors are too close to one another (usually on the mini-map), if someone is dark-blue or another really dark color (because their name can't easily be read in the top right) and in mirror matchups.

Really impressed with ggaemo. Been struggling against P lately, and this shines some light on the match up.

The unit that made the difference was the lings, created enough buffer for the hydra lurker to dish out the damage at range.
