Doctoring in the pasture is one of the few times it's beneficial to be a left handed roper. If a right hander and myself line one out, he'll throw first and I'll heel as I do normally in team roping. If he misses, I'm already set up for a head loop. It's also useful when trailer loading big heavy cattle since we can both be on our ideal sides of the trailer for pulling one on.
