Riche Terre Mall the first shopping center in the North of Mauritius

  • We visited the Riche Terre Mall during their bake sale. It is a huge single-level shopping mall that has tons to offer. We tried some of the foods on offer, a cold haiken, samosa, and a great Punjab. We then tucked into a butter chicken thali before exploring all this center has to offer.
The food court is filled with all the favourites, from El Mondo pizza, Galito's chicken, Mumbai Chaat, KFC, Sen & Ken, and a few we hadn't see before, Le Coin Gourment, a fusion kitchen, pasta, and a Creamy Inn right next to the Pizza Inn. There is a Mcdonald's outside with a drive-thru.
They have a lot to choose from in the shopping department, Manjoo, the Bazaar of India, some trendy shoe and clothing stores, of course, there was an Island Haze, Roxy, and Quicksilver. A massive Courts, 361, and a huge clothing store called Vesti-One. But the surprise of the day was the Jumbo.
It was our first time in a Jumbo supermarket, and it is, well, it's Jumbo, actually ginormous. With everything you would expect from a massive supermarket what surprised us was the feeling of space. They have designed it with people in mind, no cramped aisles as they try to stuff everything in. Oh no, there is plenty of space to walk around and never have a trolley traffic jam. Tons of spices and bring your own container bins, these guys are awesome.
The very loud DJ made it hard to film the bake sale, but we did get some footage. It is a pity as they had some great stuff on offer.
We finished off in the parking area for the outro and Riki made funny faces and things while I talked about the number of selfies we took for the thumbnail. The last bit of the video has some of them.
Riche Terre shopping mall might be the oldest in the north of Mauritius, but it has been refurbed a few times to keep it modern. It is a great place to walk around and window shop, or do actual shopping, they seem to have everything you need from a huge mall and a few extras, but the Jumbo was the real star of the day.

We are saving up to get a drone, so we can show you more from the places we visit. Help the cause by buying a coffee. You can also get a free copy of Riki's art of the day here:
