Well, TYBW Episode 30 was another incredible instalment - featuring maybe the anime's best brand-new fight to date! What did you think of Ichigo vs Uryū's fated showdown? What about Uryū's new Quincy: Vollständig? How did you feel about Chad, Orihime, and Ganju standing up to the Schutzstaffel? Let me know your thoughts below - thanks everyone! Grab a drink, sit back, and enjoy!
I think uryu vollstandig suits him no Quincy embodies what it means to be a Quincy the most.so him controlling arrows is perfect. just like byakuya is the embodiment of a soul reapers. I hate them standing up to the schutzstaffel the fact Chad gets the krillin treatment and is so out class hurt my heart
Ishida's resolve totally eclipsed Ichigo's ! Much like Gin in that he's got to sell the part/ his resolve and" dedication to the cause". ( Also no disrespect to Ganju but he's the Yamcha of the Ichi-group who could very easily become collateral damage, or a hostage, especially when the plot nerfs Orihime's healing). Worse yet, Ichigo is pulling an" Orochimaru's hideout Naruto" move. Moreover, Ishida basically said " Kirin" via his Vollstadig and instead of minimizing/ mitigating it by letting out *just enough* power( or flat out just going bankai), he let Uryu raw dog him and now he's falling off the side of the battlefield and there's no "Deus ex hollow transformation" to overtake his body via auto pilot mode (i read the manga so i know what he's got in the chamber but still). Having FULL mastery of ALL his unique abilities including ANTI QUINCY(hollow) abilities, alongside Shinigami and latent Quincy powers is the bare minimum ,to say the least. To be honest it'd be a start! Ichigo is the closest thing to Reio- the only other to have all 4 spirit being abilities. Case in point dude could be absorbing all of Uryu attacks instead of launching deliberately nerfed getsuga. They always glaze Ichigo's potential yet for all his "soul king candidate training" not one of them saw fit to teach him to practice " dominion over reishi ?!" These are some of the oldest/most powerful Shinigami and they taught him a lot, no question, but the fate of the worlds are at stake, and he's not ready, not really. The very first lesson (from Urahara) WAS RESOLVE WTF is this sorry display?! They might not have been able to tell him how to do it but they have 1000's of years of combat, observation, and records of Quincy techniques. He learned his past and that " the blade is me" and he chose to accept BOTH zangetsu; yet still fights like a hybrid instead of a "tri-brid " Dude I wish ! Learning how to integrate gran ray getsuga in base is the tip of the iceberg I'd be mixing and matching 3 factorial.. and why NOT KIDO for that matter? What 17+ year old doesn't wanna learn magic; RENJI KNOWS HOW pre upgrade! RUKIA even grew enough and finally KNOWS BANKAI, I imagine if she could add to more to her arsenal she would. I understand stakes make the story interesting and I'm loving thousand year blood WAR but if i were ichigo and managed to survive the first wave and had an opportunity to prepare, once i got access to my full potential I'd be using that to learn anything and everything i could especially if it meant i could " ACTUALLY SAVE/ PROTECT EVERYONE I CARE ABOUT" ya know the things he's been saying since episode 1! ichigo really needs to work on his resolve, cuz otherwise it's heroic platitudes and if Ishida really was switching sides then you put him down, like a rabid dog ( best friend)or incapacitate him ! Then and only then do you mourn the loss, a luxury only afforded to the winners. Besides if the enemy wins everyone he knows as well as everyone else is going to die, is a few years of friendship worth the multiverse? Besides Ulquiorra wasn't that long ago... remember that time "he" broke his arm and stabbed him?! Sure that was technically white but i mean.. " the blade is me" lol
Hope you read this comment! I did not like the depiction of that Getsuga Jijusho just soaring past Uryu. Every depiction of the attack we’ve seen so far has had the attack stay visible in the sky despite hitting a target. I was fully believing that Uryu absorbed the attack and called Ichigo naive for even clashing with a Quincy who can absorb rei. Gotta rewatch it tho tbh to look for audio cues of that being the case.
Maybe Pernida appeared out of nowhere because juuha bach could have summoned him out of the shadows just like he did when he invaded the royal palace and confronted zero division
The term “silent beef” is funny to me 😂 I don’t know why but I can’t stop laughing 😆 I have this image of a sentient slice of roast beef sitting in the corner of a dark room silently just staring lmao. Autism at its finest 😂
As someone who has read the whole manga, it’s so refreshing and invigorating to see a brand new important and huge fight, and to genuinely not know what could happen in the next episode of bleach like im 15 watching it for the first time again, it’s been so long since I’ve had that feeling and it’s so exciting, the anime has been absolutely brilliant
Chad is NOT punching the air, he did the same trick as Gerard - send a shockwave of sheer force back at him. dude's a superpowered human with Fullbring casually flexing back at the Heart of the Reio himself. gotta respect that.
That was my first thought too. I was surprised he thought Chad just punched air and did nothing. It seemed obvious he created a shockwave with his strike.
This guy is unnervingly stupid with some of his takes despite his knowledge of the series. All his "I don't get it, why not, why this, it's as if, etc.." we're all self-explanatory. He's like a computer with a large memory but bottlenecked by the low processing power of its CPU. Lol
I started laughing when i saw the use of his new ability and exclaimed "what in the Gundam is this?!" Even though that "multiple mini laser on the back" weapon system has been in a lot of the gundam series, i recently went through Gundam Seed, and was reminded of the system Providence Gundam used.
Nah the anime team already correctly submitted Lille as the leader by having him fight Oetsu. In character of Gérard he feels like the all brawn no brains hulk member of the group
12:41 I didn't actually interpret that pulse to be coming from Yhwach. I thought it came from Mimihagi, and it was a burst of the power of stillness. That's why we've never seen it before, and that's why it seemed to paralyze everyone. It was how it tried to hold Yhwach at bay.
Seeing all these new additions to the series is such a blessing. Every time I’m watching a new TYBW episode, my jaw drops and drags on the floor. This episode included content that I’ve been wanting around for years for (Uyru holy form and more Karakura squad involvement)! It’s truly a great time to be a Bleach fan!
Found it a bit curious how pernida and Gerard had zero interactions or thoughts after seeing the soul king. I understand their allegiance to the quincy, but considering they are parts of the reio himself, it would have been cool to see what they were thinking. The fact that reio's own heart and left hand played a role in his death is crazy
It does need tightening for sure. While these reviews are getting longer, it should also be considered as a podcast as well for this kind of length lol. Most of us watching likely use this as background noise/watch in parts.
Ichibei sealed Yhwach's Almighty and says it will remain sealed until he dies. Jugram says that Yhwach was deliberately not using it during the 1st and 2nd Invasions becuase it could have gone out of control. The implication here is that Yhwach had already died prior to the invasions and was regaining not only his strength, but the ability to control the Almighty. My take is this: Yamamoto straight up killed Yhwach 1000 years ago, but the Almighty was released from the seal and went out of control, forcing Yhwach to completely seal himself away to prevent the repercussions. I believe that it is due to the Almighty going out of control at this point that we get the Kaiser Gesang at all. Yhwach foresaw it happening before going away. As for how Yhwach came back from the dead, I believe it has to do with the fact that his 'other half' in Jugram was around acting as a sort of Phylactery.
Yhwach actually dying in his battle with Yamamoto was my take too. Ichibei’s wording felt deliberate choice on the anime team’s part. Plus Mayuri saying Yamamoto failed to kill that man was always just his assumption. He wasn’t at that battle a 1,000 years ago. He most likely just thinks Yamamoto screwed up and let Yhwach get away. I like your idea that as soon as Yhwach was killed that Almighty was unsealed and that saved him.
I believe that even in death the souls of all the quincy that die still return to Yhwach and that's how he was able to revive himself after enough souls was absorbed. This would also mean that the shinigami attempting to exterminate the quincy greatly enhanced Yhwach time to return.
I hear that there's a religion where God's Right Hand accepts its role as his right hand, while his Left Hand believes itself to be a separate being and rebels against him. That could be similar to Mimihagi and Pernida's deal.
Yeah that’s the broad philosophical difference between Right Hand Path religions (Christianity, Islam, etc.) and Left Hand Path religions (Luciferianism, certain traditions of Paganism/Wicca). Great catch!
What I find particularly intriguing is how the anime adds nuance to Uryu’s shift in allegiance. His actions, though chilling, aren't hollow-they’re layered with pain, conviction, and perhaps even a twisted sense of honor. This betrayal doesn’t feel forced; it’s a natural culmination of his character arc. This battle between old allies isn’t just another “checklist” fight but a profound, inevitable clash, embodying the series’ deepest themes. I can't wait to see how this arc will finally bring everything together. This series has hit its stride in a way that’s honestly exhilarating to watch!
I can't express how much I, and everyone else enjoys watching your discussions! Especially the longer they are. It feels like we're all in a room just geeking out over Bleach and I'm all for it. Cheers 😁
A little detail that I absolutely adore is how uryu's punches and kicks form reishi bows. The anime did a great job of not just expanding on his character and relationship with ichigo, but also his fighting style and combat skills
Man, ichigo vs Ishida has been soo crazy to me, I totally forgot about his Jugram fight. They'll definitely upgrade that fight as well. Hopefully that fight shows how much Ishida was holding back in this fight.
I really hope you do another strongest Sternritter list when the anime is over. I get the feeling Uryu’s placement will be quite different than what it was years back.
I like to think ukitake isn’t fighting with mimihage, but that he’s fully absorbed and is one with the arm. Every twitch is every motion the arm taken directed by ukitake
I really like how, by giving Ichigo and Uryu this fight, anime has allowed both characters to have more of a role in the arc, in a way that feels natural. Uryu getting more focus makes a lot of sense, given how this was meant to be the arc were he would integral to the story. But, it also gives Ichigo that kind of rival character that he had in previous arcs, but did not really have in the TYBW. And again, Uryu filling that role in the narrative, makes a lot of sense, since it explains why Ichigo would not go all out in a fight, thus allowing his true power to be kept hidden until the final battle with Yhwach. Great stuff!
Honesly im always impressed by Tommos breadth and depth of knowledge, calling out chapters and references in detail and creating such a cohesive breakdown. We're blessed by your knowledge and passion as we are blessed to have this anime to share together
Gotta love how Tommo is annoyed by the recap at the start of the episode, which was barely 1 minute long, when he needed 8 minutes for his intro and to recite the titles of the chapters covered in this episode 💀
Feels like Uryu's whole power set is the definition of keep away. If he really wanted to, he'd never have to get struck by an enemy attack because of antithesis, AND he now has basically drones fighting for him. Pure zoner energy
7 is still the best one for me just of the og gotei reveal one of the best beginnings to an anime i ever saw. Episode 24 is my second favorite because of the flashback with Ywach and Ichibei and Nimaya one shotting everyone.
@@garthyahudahandrews8504 the part that really seal the deal for me on episode 7 was when Nothing Can be Explained started playing. I was already over the moon with the extended fight with Yhwach and Ichigo, but that sent me over. Yes, episode 24 and its flashback was amazing and in my top 5 episodes currently. It felt like such a huge revelation and like an easter egg for manga readers since we desperately wanted more lore in this adaptation.
I think that Uryū's smirk could have been vailed behind him being, "Impressed he's pushing Ichigo", "Impressed he's improved so much", "Glad to be fighting Ichigo" when in reality it could be that he's impressed by how much Ichigo has grown. Hence why a certain someone is constantly Staring down at Uryū... sensing what's to come.
43:16 Something i wanna point out is that i believe this instance of Blut Vene in the Uryuu fight was very much a deliberate use of his Quincy powers. I have a few reasons to believe this: -Just before this moment, Ichigo forces away Yhwach's Blut Vene with his own. One *can* argue this is just "instinct" at play like in the first war but i find that hard to believe considering Yhwach's Blut was strong enough to persist until Ichigo made a seemingly deliberate effort to get rid of it. (Edit: a good example of instinct/luck would be the time where he unlocked his Quincy side inside Quilge's jail.) -Ichigo's reaction to getting hit with an arrow on his face (42:21) does *not* look like the face of a guy who didn't know what happened. He is not sweating, he doesn't seem surprised, and he immediately backs Uryuu into a corner afterwards. Those are not the looks and actions of someone who just got lucky. -Later in the manga, he uses Horn of Salvation and hollowfies by i quote "There was a guy i wanted to wake up by pumping in some Quincy spiritual pressure" (Chapter 675) which turns his Soul Reaper blade white. Ichigo during his training in the Royal Palace managed to get ahold of all these abilities. He has had this in his bag since the start of the second invasion. (My memory is a little foggy but i don't think he ever has another time to "train" during this arc.) -And the most important point for me: What was the point of Blade is Me lol? What was the point of him learning of his origin and coming to truly accept all parts of himself and finally fight with his true power, something that he had never been allowed for the entire series, just to go "actually he doesn't know how to use his Quincy side, he got lucky lololol"? Being aware and accepting of all parts of yourself is very heavily tied to the power system of the series. Not being good at it is one thing, Renji and Rukia didn't magically become good at using their new powers just because they understood themselves better. It's one thing for him to not be good at it like with Horn of Salvation, being unable to is a completely different deal. I like the idea of Old Man Zan protecting Ichigo, but this arc made it clear that Ichigo is on full command now. The Old Man and Zangetsu should not be doing anything anymore since as Ichigo said "I won't ask for your help anymore. I won't tell you to stay out of my way either. Nor will i ask you guys to fight with me. I... will fight on my own." Yap sesh over. This might sound petty but i can't overstate just how big of a deal Blade is Me was for Ichigo as a character and seeing that get downplayed is pretty frustrating. If those uses of Blut really were just luck or instinct then that's an L imo.
I'm so happy to say that ichigo and uryu's fight wasn't a waste of time , uryu's shocking discovery of ichigo being a quincy might set up a new plot point and it was cool to his voltstanding . Orihime , chad and ganju trying to fight the elite members was so adorable , I haven't been so optimistic of bleach in a long time
54:00 This scene is framed in a weird way but i think Chad sent a shockwave with his left arm that just didn't do anything, kinda like what Broom Girl in JJK did that one time in season 2 lol.
Maaaaan. Piero films just keeps 1 upping themselves with each episode. This is exactly how an anime adaptation should be. Expanding on the manga while keeping the show in line with the manga story. Chef’s kiss. These guys deserve all the flowers 👏
Orihime should’ve cast Shiten Koshun against him when she used that against Ginjo I lost it. But also yeah ywach hitting that and his attack getting sent back woulda been amazing to see in this animation quality
😮 literally seeing both orihime and Chad get more screen time that's not in the manga was amazing, seeing orihime take action on her own and shield ganju was sickening I was so god damn hyped I really wanted them to get more of a fight in for show casing what they can do cause for two full bringers their powers are ridiculously insane, for a full bringer that is. But he's not wrong that orihime and Chad technically don't stand a chance against enemies like these so it's fair what we got at the end of the day, but really tho the fact orihime could reflect that attack without her shield breaking or her getting blown away, that was a beautiful way to show case some power scaling in the bleach world
We can criticise the 3 bystanders by each protagonists’ confidence level. Ichigo knows he’s him & Yoruichi knows how strong she is. However, Orihime is anti-antagonistic, Chad probably knows he’s not that strong, and Ganju’s probably afraid to die. Hence, probably why they are just standing there, which is annoying. You can really tell they are the side to the side characters.
43:27 This remains to be confirmed but it seems like Ichigo has shown that he can use Blut Vene at will this episode. He overpowered Yhwach/s reiatsu by channeling his own to counter it, which is the principle of Blut (albeit with Reishi). That, and 'The Blade is Me' saw Ichigo accepting both the Hollow and Quincy powers that make up his zanpakuto is in fact himself, giving him control over both. 51:26 There's a distinction that Urahara makes here which I think could be important, which is that the balance is not only maintaned by the balance of souls, but the balance of reiatsu/energy as well. It's why the Soul King is important as a lynchpin
The still shot color change frames are from Mimi Hagi it has the power of stillness so it makes sense it has some ability to freeze and that it would use it
The top 10 most powerful characters list is going to change so damn hard by the end of these cours. And i feel bad for you when attempting to rank this cours episodes by the end, its been Banger after Banger truly a difficult task.
Uryu, Jugram, and Squad 0 members who aren’t Ichibei will def be pushed up the list. I’m hoping Chad, Ganju, and Orihime do more as well. Orihime and Ichigo will get a better showing against SK Yhwach probably, but I’m not sure about the others.
@@shiroufan5401 We Havent seen Jugram yet so it might change, also Urahara and zaraki will almost surely get extended lore power showcases or explanations. We are yet to see but i think senjumaru and Uryu arent the only ones getting new stuff.
@@tobiisagoodboy8510 True i hope that wasnt everything we get from them esp Chad, the narrative was truly harsh on him in the Manga, i thought the fullbring Arc would help him shine but it didnt. A new power like legs for speed or something would truly help him out. i think Yoroichi, Urahara, zaraki and perhaps even grimmjaw will get better showcases and maybe more power potential teases that will end up elevating them more.
i like to think that mimihagi and orihime's powers have some sort of relation, the concept of stillness, impediment, the way it "healed" ukitake and so on is very similar to orihime's rejection abilities, the anime visual choices just add to that theory
This is everything I ever wanted. I'm literally shaking waiting for the Pernida reveal, I've been obsessively curious how they are planning to do the voice.
Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War is the gift that keeps on giving. Uryu is my favourite character and I am so happy that he has a proper role in the final arc. Ichigo's and Uryu's extended fight and the reveal of Uryu's Vollstandig is one of the best things i have seen in the anime. Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War gets better with every episode and cour!
As a tactician and practicer of the traditional arts, this Vollständig really suits Uryu. Very decent but still in line with a prideful demeanor. A lighter version of Quiluge. He isn’t the type of character who bursts full force into a battle. Like all of his friends, Uryu is fully aware that Ichigo’s prowess are dependent on his emotional state. For perfect stalling, he could lower Ichigo’s resolve by confronting him with force. When their shoulders clashed, for a split second „Denkousekka“ run in my head
Maybe Chad, Orihime, and Ganju didn’t help initially because they were still overcoming the effects of Ywach’s shockwave thing at the start of the episode? That’s my best guess.
Man I know it's not important but I always expected a scene with Mimihagi raising towards the heavens with an epic background track, giving it a more godly vibe, with some vfx that showcased the speed with which it reaches the soul palace. Unnecessary but that's how I wished we had seen it, and seeing the recap got me excited and disappointed for a second time lmao
46:57- they’re very futuristic yet divine- showing he’s the successor of the Quincy King- as arbitrary such a title is given that Yhwach ultimately fears death
I like how kione is the one to show strength because it foreshadowing how she's not as weak as she's been portrayed because she does end up as a captain in the he'll ark
maybe uryu's Vollstandig is the most complete out of the other quincies, the halo is used to collect more reishi from the surroundings and further empower the quincy into its second sklave rei form, Uryu already transforms with the sklave rei add-ons and the halo is kind of a weakness since it can be broken ceasing the power up
I like to imagine that Uryu using the phrase “over my dead body” and telling ichigo he had the perfect opportunity to kill him. Along with calling him naïve after their clash are indications that he kind of WANTS ichigo to do it. Maybe he thinks he really IS in too deep and like ichigo killing the soul king; since Uryu has the blood of the king in him he cant NOT follow Ywhach’s will. I know thats not even close to how he is depicted in the manga but its an interesting possibility!
Uryu realizing Ichigo is a Quincy, Ichigo putting his sword to Uryu, URYUS VOLLSTANDIG and still the incomplete one but gorgeous all the same, and BEAUTIFUL foreshadowing because he looks like hes been crucified when its first shown and the badge over his heart... Uryu's double speak and taunts and of course that final shot. (nearly every word Uryu says here has double meaning. "this world doesnt need shinigami" = "only a Quincy/I can end this/it needs me", maybe referencing his plan or the fact that he feels its his duty to take on the role of ending the war and fighting against the Quincy (again the martyr imagery that keeps showing up with him). Basically, he's saying "this isn't your fight, its mine now, let me handle it". Still very interesting for him to say IMMEDIATELY after finding out Ichigo's a Quincy but idk boys got a lot to process) re: Uryu's smile. is it possible hes just trying to goad Ichigo into using bankai for the opportune moment to strike? would also connect with why he keeps throwing out comments to ichigo about killing him...or.... is it possible hes trying to train Ichigo, in the only way he can in this moment, to be ready to take the final shot. "I wont let you kill His Majesty" looking for ichigo's response to be affirmative? Him wanting to be the one to kill Yhwach does fit but I also dont think he'd hinge his plan or this situation ENTIRELY on "I want to be the one who does it" UNLESS it goes back to "only I can do this" So much to talk about. This is everything. EVERYTHING. i have asked for, couldve hoped or prayed for. When TYBW was announced, I was so bitter my favorite character, who the arc SHOULD be about in some way, got so little and was so obvious... I almost didnt watch. I'm glad I did. Uryus final 2 battles are the caps to his character development...but for now, I'm happy. I truly didnt think I would see ANYTHING like this. To have loved this character for so long and be so disappointed by this conflict, and then to see the anime do EVERYTHING RIGHT. Its like the best Christmas present ever. Even if I knew nothing about the manga, the way you talk about this exchange here really shows how much we were all holding our breath, how vital this fight was to the story. I'm so glad they did it right.
When Uryu transforms you can see the reishi of the royal palace raining into the cross in the same way that the normal use of Sclaveray, as in the Bambies, Robert, etc. So maybe Uryu didn't had a halo because he fused both techniques, eliminating the weak point by making Sclaveray just a part of his Vollstanding, so the halo can't be a target.
Maybe that instance where Yhwach released the pulse that discolored the scene is what caused Chad Ganju & orihime from moving to help… like it prompted them from moving for a certain amount of time, & lasted on them the longest bc their Reiatsu isn’t as strong as Yoruichi or Ichigos
I'm surprised that no one noticed that, but if you look closely at Ishida moments before his final shot on Ichigo, he oddly nods to him for some reason as if affirming something that Ichigo realized during that moment. To me, that whole part looked very staged from both sides and I can't help, but feel like Ichigo already knows about Ishida's true motives and will play along for the rest of the arc unbeknownst to everyone else.
Mr. Tommo, interesting question, what do you think of the anime showing REIO without feet? Could it be an indication to 2 new entities, or could it be a genuine mistake 🤔
I think it's as simple as this: The Almighty overlooks itself/its user when seeing the future. This means that *any* aspect of Yhwach, the Soul King or his pieces just don't appear anywhere. The Silver of Stillness is Yhwach's influence on a Quincy given substance. Yhwach's Almighty will completely overlook it because it is an extension of himself.
I figure Chad, Orihime, and Ganju not interfering has to do with: A) it all happening a lot faster in real time than in anime time. B) Them not really being able to find a proper opening. They aren't as fast or as battle savvy as Yoruichi. I remember during the Hueco Mundo arc Ichigo didn't want to use his hollow mask, because the sheer output of power could cause harm to Orihime. It could be a similar case here. Ichigo and Yhwach are throwing out insane moves. The three of them maintaining their distance is just the smarter play, lest the get in the way of Ichigo or Yoruichi. All that just kind of brings up the question if why they were brought to the palace in the first place 😅

I feel the same way.
It's a feeling I never thought I would feel again 🥲
Chad is NOT punching the air, he did the same trick as Gerard - send a shockwave of sheer force back at him.
dude's a superpowered human with Fullbring casually flexing back at the Heart of the Reio himself.
gotta respect that.
Chad is the reason we call Chads Chads 😤🤣
That was my first thought too. I was surprised he thought Chad just punched air and did nothing. It seemed obvious he created a shockwave with his strike.
This guy is unnervingly stupid with some of his takes despite his knowledge of the series. All his "I don't get it, why not, why this, it's as if, etc.." we're all self-explanatory. He's like a computer with a large memory but bottlenecked by the low processing power of its CPU. Lol
@@Jjop017it happens to the best. 🫡
Cool detail : Pernida's eye glow and the Kamikake reveal from ep 25 have the same sound effect as when Adnyeus first appeared in ep 8
I wonder if The Miracle will have that same effect
That’s cold man
We are eating with these 1 hour+ vids!!!!
Thanks for putting in so much work❤
Gundam fans knew that Uryu was going to win once he used vollstandig, because funnels are OP.
Uryu is a newtype
Facts....broken fuckin floating space pistols
Yes bits and funnels everyone was byakyua no amuro son
I started laughing when i saw the use of his new ability and exclaimed "what in the Gundam is this?!"
Even though that "multiple mini laser on the back" weapon system has been in a lot of the gundam series, i recently went through Gundam Seed, and was reminded of the system Providence Gundam used.
Gerard has been giving HEAVY “group leader” energy for the Schutzstaffel these last few episodes despite Lille actually being it 😭
I think he's just annoying tbh
He really is the emotional core of the team, brings the energy well 💪❤
@@haku1384 not leader more like mascot
Nah the anime team already correctly submitted Lille as the leader by having him fight Oetsu. In character of Gérard he feels like the all brawn no brains hulk member of the group
Thoroughly enjoy your long-form reviews. Looking forward to watching this!
That was probably one of the best intros of a review video I've heard! "Not enough vocabulary, etc" masterful essay 👌
Been waiting for this review, probably one of the best bleach episodes
12:41 I didn't actually interpret that pulse to be coming from Yhwach. I thought it came from Mimihagi, and it was a burst of the power of stillness. That's why we've never seen it before, and that's why it seemed to paralyze everyone. It was how it tried to hold Yhwach at bay.
Exactly! Plus the color shift is the same as when Yhwach has used the almighty further showing the connection to Reio!
Almost 1 hour and a half!!! Jesus! By cour 4 we'll have 3 hour long reviews lol
I pray😭
My honest thoughts about this because Uryu was holding back a lot in the fight
Both of them held back like crazy
Uryu realizing that Ichigos mom is an quincy is the most Marta moment, like in Batman vs Superman lmao
Lol, only way less cringe
@benjaminbadger8235 you can imagine Uryu going like: "Your momnwas a Quincy (Marta) to??"
So glad you clocked Uryu's dialog in his monologue while his arrows are chasing Ichigo as being about Yhwach. Great stuff.
Gotta love how Tommo is annoyed by the recap at the start of the episode, which was barely 1 minute long, when he needed 8 minutes for his intro and to recite the titles of the chapters covered in this episode 💀
He definitely takes his time with his intros, def gotta out the vid on 1.5x speed
Feels like Uryu's whole power set is the definition of keep away. If he really wanted to, he'd never have to get struck by an enemy attack because of antithesis, AND he now has basically drones fighting for him. Pure zoner energy
Cour 3 and its consistency has been insane! Episode 7 is still my favorite of TYBW, but man it’s getting tight at the top of my list!
I have a few reasons to believe this:
-Just before this moment, Ichigo forces away Yhwach's Blut Vene with his own. One *can* argue this is just "instinct" at play like in the first war but i find that hard to believe considering Yhwach's Blut was strong enough to persist until Ichigo made a seemingly deliberate effort to get rid of it. (Edit: a good example of instinct/luck would be the time where he unlocked his Quincy side inside Quilge's jail.)
-Ichigo's reaction to getting hit with an arrow on his face (42:21) does *not* look like the face of a guy who didn't know what happened.
(My memory is a little foggy but i don't think he ever has another time to "train" during this arc.)
-And the most important point for me: What was the point of Blade is Me lol?
I... will fight on my own."
Yap sesh over. This might sound petty but i can't overstate just how big of a deal Blade is Me was for Ichigo as a character and seeing that get downplayed is pretty frustrating. If those uses of Blut really were just luck or instinct then that's an L imo.
❤💙
I'm so happy to say that ichigo and uryu's fight wasn't a waste of time , uryu's shocking discovery of ichigo being a quincy might set up a new plot point and it was cool to his voltstanding .
Orihime , chad and ganju trying to fight the elite members was so adorable , I haven't been so optimistic of bleach in a long time
Because you're a hating creep
I knew this would be a long one for that last episode. What an amazing episode
Ishida was really Byakuya Senbonzakura coded at times with his new powers. It was hilarious seeing him close his fist to crush Ichigo.
Its totally just a reskin lol, senbon ishida kageyoshi
54:00 This scene is framed in a weird way but i think Chad sent a shockwave with his left arm that just didn't do anything, kinda like what Broom Girl in JJK did that one time in season 2 lol.
Maaaaan. Piero films just keeps 1 upping themselves with each episode. This is exactly how an anime adaptation should be. Expanding on the manga while keeping the show in line with the manga story. Chef’s kiss. These guys deserve all the flowers 👏
They can't get away with doing Yoruichi like that!
Ywach absorbing the soul king is a perfect opportunity to see some of his memories next episode. Let's see if they go for it.
I love that literally every episode has so much new content to cover so every video is an hour long
I’m still dying to hear a remix of Quincy’s craft. It’s been so long
Mr Tommo is cooking chad hard
54:27 "... What's next? Statues?"
I feel like top 3 will either stay the same or Uryu will be there instead of Aizen
Did anybody else think the slight nod uryu gives after calling ichigo naive was another hint for ichigo about his true motives?
Been waiting three days for this lets go!
Love that ichigo finally uses his quincy powers willingly
Kisuke: The worlds will only remain stable as long as Ukitake is alive:
Soi Fon: I just said that three minutes ago you hack!
Hope they continue to flood us with these original scenes.
Can't wait for the Robert vs. Chad anime exclusive fight
Hope your right though. Hope some hell arc upgrade is teased for Chad to add to your point during.
“What’s next statues?” 😭😭😭😭😭 I can’t.
Maybe Chad, Orihime, and Ganju didn’t help initially because they were still overcoming the effects of Ywach’s shockwave thing at the start of the episode? That’s my best guess.
Another hour banger lets go
Uryū feels like he is seeing if Ichigo is strong enough to help in what will eventually have to be done.
Man this dude loves him some bleach 😂
But more power to you dude when I don’t understand something that’s going on in the show I come to this channel
Hour 20 minute video again?!? LETS GOOOO!!!
28:38 my guess is that pernida was hidden in the shadows/within yuha's shadows, as the entire shutstaffel has done before
I love Ichigo using Jujisho and Blut more. He needs to make use of his dual nature more. I wanna see him use a licht regen with ceros
I like how kione is the one to show strength because it foreshadowing how she's not as weak as she's been portrayed because she does end up as a captain in the he'll ark
50:31- Uryu: with all the oddballs I’ve seen, I’m at least sticking to our traditions and arrows.
maybe uryu's Vollstandig is the most complete out of the other quincies, the halo is used to collect more reishi from the surroundings and further empower the quincy into its second sklave rei form, Uryu already transforms with the sklave rei add-ons and the halo is kind of a weakness since it can be broken ceasing the power up
Yamamoto fight still clears for me, with Ichigo vs Yhwach round 2 being in second place and Unohana vs Kenpachi in 3rd, but man what a great episode.
I expected tybw to be goopd, but i didnt expect it to be this exceptionally good consistently as well as including more info
Mr tommo you dk how much you just saved my solo drive back home 😭now I have something interesting too listen to
I like to imagine that Uryu using the phrase “over my dead body” and telling ichigo he had the perfect opportunity to kill him.
Reality came knocking on Ichigo’s door, and he was not ready.
funnily enough I wasn’t super hype for this episode but after watching it wowww that shit was amazing
I think the mayuri device is the control of Aizen’s seals when Aizen and Mayuri have a little exchange.
What if Nnoitra survived?
Still very interesting for him to say IMMEDIATELY after finding out Ichigo's a Quincy but idk boys got a lot to process)
re: Uryu's smile. is it possible hes just trying to goad Ichigo into using bankai for the opportune moment to strike? would also connect with why he keeps throwing out comments to ichigo about killing him...or.... is it possible hes trying to train Ichigo, in the only way he can in this moment, to be ready to take the final shot. "I wont let you kill His Majesty" looking for ichigo's response to be affirmative? Him wanting to be the one to kill Yhwach does fit but I also dont think he'd hinge his plan or this situation ENTIRELY on "I want to be the one who does it" UNLESS it goes back to "only I can do this"
So much to talk about. I'm so glad they did it right.
uryu remember the battle with Ulqiorra and didn't shoot ichigo in the heart since he knew white would have showed up and end the manga earlier
Ok but Ganju forcing the four to use their Vollstandig is an awesome feat.
Man it would've been so sick if Ichigo just said " enough is enough " and just Mugetsu's Uryuu's ass down into the sereitei, cut to credits.
This is something I was waiting for.
Uryu vs ichigo is a fight we finally got and I love it
never clicked so fast
Man the quicksand part where pernida was drowning. He kinda looked hella cute for some reason😂
Cour 3 has had by far the most impressive start out of the 3
I'm surprised that no one noticed that, but if you look closely at Ishida moments before his final shot on Ichigo, he oddly nods to him for some reason as if affirming something that Ichigo realized during that moment.
This episode gave me most of what I wanted in the manga. Uryu fighting, his volstandig and Chad and Orihime doing something...anything.
You are sooooo vicious on Chad and it’s cracking me tf up LMFAOOO
I think it's as simple as this: The Almighty overlooks itself/its user when seeing the future. This means that *any* aspect of Yhwach, the Soul King or his pieces just don't appear anywhere.
The Silver of Stillness is Yhwach's influence on a Quincy given substance. Yhwach's Almighty will completely overlook it because it is an extension of himself.
Best directed fight in all of bleach . They went all out for this one and it’s why I love bleach 🥹
I figure Chad, Orihime, and Ganju not interfering has to do with:
A) it all happening a lot faster in real time than in anime time.
And this is still somehow out before Bankast! Man the changes here are actually insane.
I have watched the episode 4 Times for that fight..1106 tybw ch united went harder than Yama vs. Ywach.. So much more to come! Let's Goooo!!!
Beginning felt like a top gear intro lmao
