When you place a connector like that you're missing the fixture units, this parameter is necessary to make the calculations for cold domestic water and hot water, and each fixture type has its own fixture units. Is better to put a water closet MEP family or a lavatory MEP family, for example. On the sanitary system you should avoid 90 degrees angles in the horizontal plane and the sanitary connection for that WC is usually on the bottom. Without looking the technical aspects is a great example of how to model plumbing in Revit. Thanks for the video. Huge fan.

Tell me how we calculate flush valve water closets. When the first on a bank is 40 wsfu, 2nd is 3 wsfu and so on. But when we size mains we only need to calc it once for the overall building.

if you learn revit by yourself - it's wasting your time - because revit is not intuitive program. Revit has his own rules, his own language which you must learn. Courses are not so expensive anymore, so it's better to pay someone, or some online tutorial to teach you. It will be much more effective and you will get in practice much sooner.

I have learnt a lot in the last couple of weeks and I look forward to watching your tutorials every single day. I have one request though. Do you mind doing a nested Revit door family tutorial with 2 frames, 2 door panels, 2 door handles. Please, I would really appreciate your help since it seems only your tutorials are the most relevant.

Hi there, great tutorials, have been following for a while and they have been great giving me an insight on various aspects of Revit.
After forty years as a services draughtsman, the last five specifically in hydraulics (Plumbing), with the last three swearing at Revit and Architects, I feel I should toss in a comment or two.
Unlike the Electrical, HVAC or Civil drainage disciplines, Hydraulics is directly impacted by the Architectural model. With pipework attaching to fixtures that are placed within the central model by the Architect and most of the time not having direct access to that model, once that pipework has been drawn, if a fixture is moved as little as 50mm(2") this can cause hours of frustration or redrawing to get the pipes to fit again due to grades and the inflexibility of Revit.
Having said that I would like to reference your video and make a couple of observations.
1 Do not use the Mechanical Project Model. Open browse and use the Plumbing Project model.
2 Would suggest, if I may, that you do a video on how to use copy/monitor to align grids and levels with an inserted model.
3 The WC you have shown appears to be an S-Pan rather than a P-Pan. The purpose of the design aspect of Revit is to obtain accurate detailed modeling with clash detection. This starts with the Architect using the correct fixtures. Note that a P-Pan will have a connection on the centreline at least 150mm above FFL which allows a pipe to run above the floor not in it as yours will do if you start at zero offset. (Sorry but my biggest bugbear is accuracy or lack thereof and I tend to ramble)
What I say above will have minimal effect on a simple single level dwelling but if you are working on a multistory building, or a facility with large ablution areas, accuracy becomes paramount. The ability to negotiate steel structures and other service disciplines can be a pain in the butt however successfully doing so, even though you can not see the result under the floor slab, is rewarding.
Keep up the good work and I look forward to your next video

Is it possible to put pipes directly into the wall? Not to make some "sanitary space" behind the elements. I tryed to make project like IRL, like we do it here in Serbia, to put pipe 5cm from conector, inside of wall, and it said to me "distance to short". -.-

"Just draw the pipes with lines, who cares? Why can't we just do this in AutoCAD?"
    - 99% of all MEP "CAD Drafters" everywhere.
At my last firm (this was about 10 years ago) we did an entire 5 story building with 2D CAD Links, layered onto each level of the Revit model. The HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Fire Protection, all of it. No modelled objects at all. When the architect complained the PM replied "The contract called for Revit, there's your Revit. It didn't say anything about not using CAD imports." Thankfully I had nothing to do with that project...
