Happy Bengali New Year 1425, Greetings and best wishes to all the flute learners all over the world. ‘Pohela Baishakh’ is the largest celebrated festival in Bengali heritage irrespective to race and religion. Banshi or flute is an inseparable instrument of this festival. It is a symbol of Bengali music and culture. We are happy to see that the main festival of celebrating Pohela Boishakh at ‘Ramna Botomul’ is starting with the flute performance of our great Guruji Murtaza Kabir Murad. We are also happy that EFS made one year journey from its beginning, though we have been uploading tutorials for six months. Today we reach 10K subscriber and 300K view. We feel proud that many students from different countries are regularly watching and following the lessons, we think what we work for is a bit help to others. When we first started our work, we never thought that this flute learning channel would be so much popular, people would embrace it with love. We are grateful to our Guruji Murtaza Kabir Murad- our hope. Our journey with flute will go on under his guidance and care. We are planning to take some new projects, one is to arrange a Flute Festival in Dhaka within some months, Students of EFS will perform there. The program will be composed and designed by Guruji himself.
Our long awaiting Raga learning session is starting with this lesson 18. Raga Bilawal is composed of all Shuddha Notes and based on Bilawal Thaat. It is equivalent to the Carnatic melakarta raga Dheerasankarabharanam, as well as the Western Ionian mode (major scale) and contains the notes S R G m P D N S'. It is an ideal Raga to start with, all should have some idea on Bilawal. It should be noted that the discussion on Raga Bilawal, which is divided into lesson 18 and 19 is for very beginners of Raga lessons. This is why, we did nor describe very details of this Raga. In the following lessons, we will try to focus deep in Raga details.
It is time to say goodbye. Lets celebrate this Pohela Boishakh with lots of flute! Love flute!!Live Flute!!!
