I wonder if anyone else has ever done what Ahkbar has done-Go from normal 109s into the supers weighing about 128 I believe registering a very good 446 back down through the 109s getting a good total tho not his best along the way to a very slim 102 where he put up 400 to qualify for Paris and then back up to a full 109 to win here. Now one more trip back down to 102. Must have a boatload of willpower. I’m hoping the 109s are on for 2028 in LA. I think Djuraev will cop either silver or bronze in Paris.
this really puts into perspective how strong lifters used to be, and especially the strength of karlos nasar and the top 89's. I like watching older worlds competitions; in so doing, I've come across the 2011 worlds -105 session. it's one of the best of all time, just as the 85's and 105's from 2014. klokov and akkaev snatching high 190's and 230's in the c&j. those Russian restoratives....
@@jmcsquared18yeah what a crazy rule. I guess I understand the reason for it, but it leaves so much room for interpretation. Something different has to be done.
@@thehardboy45I was wondering the same thing as the original poster.. thank you for clarifying. So Akbar did what he did, but isn’t going for Paris? Edit: what did Akbar qualify in 102 and then lift in 109 and is going to cut back to 102 for Paris?
@@patricklang7162 He qualified for the olympics by becoming asian champion i think. As for why he competed in 109 here. Could be the weight cut hadnt really started yet for him but he still wanted to compete, could be he didnt want the stress of the more competetive 102s. A few olympic contenders also competed in non-olympic categories, like Koanda in womens 87.
What is Karlo Nesar on, if he is lifiting more than some of these larger athletes? My only guess is the square-cube law (the bigger an object is hte harder it is for that object to exist, expalining why most large athletes' poun-for-pound lifts are less than smaller athletes).
For one, smaller athletes have shorter limbs and generally more flexible. Pound for pound is kind of stupid measurement because greater amount of muscle mass doesn't mean proportionally greater force production. You need to look into how muscle contractions happen in the first place, it's all basically work of motoneurons. Square cube law have nothing to do with it, I don't get why you brought that up.
@@qltcngreater muscle mass does tend to mean greater force production. Smaller athletes don’t have to lift the bar as far. The motor neuron thing is a cop out for sports scientists to attribute because they can’t figure out the precise leverages and mechanics that make someone athletes more efficient at a given movement. Same goes for muscle fiber composition.

Why such a long gap between you uploading this session and the others?
Probably to deal with crazy amount of copyrighted pop music IWF plays at events
I hope it’s not this bad at the olympics

UZBEK super 👌. Number 1.
interesting to see djuraev, since he has done 200/250 in training haha.
Guessing he would’ve done that as a super when he was like 20kg heavier?!
Actually did 200/246 summer 2022 at Arab Games
@@JohnDoherty-dl2fz was that when he weighed like 128 or whatever it was?
Clint. He might’ve weighed a bit less. He weighed the 128 at the 2023 Asians where he totaled a little less 438/439?
@@JohnDoherty-dl2fz was this the Asian comp around may where tian took the c an j record and li dayin did the first 180kg snatch?!
Don't press the buzzer during the middle of someone's lift!
He may lose form and pull something/or accidentally drop the bar on his head

The judging is appalling
Since they were giving no lifts for everyone it was at least fair I guess
When is it not? The press out is impossible to judge consistently.

Lots and lots of PEDs.

the answer is simpler, the best athletes are in the olympic categories, this isn't one
