He's talking about a race where an old school gixxer ran faster lap times than a new V4S. The Duc was slightly slower because the suspension was too soft and made the riders less comfortable

@@RYU583 yes. I think Ducati should not dilute the Panigale V4 instead launch the same Panigale with a slightly softer suspension and just call it Panigale V4 T(Touring) and keep standard Panigale a track focused weapon.

@@nastyscorp sounds like a good idea, but the V4S is already doing very well against competitors on shootouts.....if its not the fastest, it would be very near it. The track the Revzilla guys went to was probably not the best for such a powerful bike ( short track with many turns and no long straights).
Even if the V4/V4S were too soft....there's still the V4R.

I’ve got a 2018 V4S (track only) and it is indeed barking. But I don’t believe it’s faster down the home straight than the gen4 bimmer. Which was reading 174mph. The V4S there was reading north of 185mph. Cheeky speedo me thinks 🥳
Exactly. The Honda was fastest at 179mph GPS speed. BMW next at 175, then Ducati and Aprilia at 174.
Could have been 20 min long that video. That last straightaway. Dear Lord!!!
Having a few track videos of myself and seeing how slow it looks later just highlights how quick you are going. Looks like there’s not much left on the table on these runs. Makes watching your show more interesting to know you guys can really haul the mail.

Love hearing the pegs scrape in a slow turn and then WHAM rocket to the next corner. Also, it seems the dash reads “- - -“ above 180. Option that can be turned off or design by default???

All modern bike speedometers are set to go blank at 186mph/299kph.

It’s to do with the deal all manufacturers made to limit the top speed to 180mph after the speed wars with the likes of the Honda Blackbird, Suzuki Hyabusa and the Kawasaki ZX1400. Modern bikes are now faster than the agreed top speed so they just have the speedo stop reading at 299kph. Dumb really.

I wish digital dashes in new cars and bike had a faster refresh speed on the speedo. It like they update at 50ms.. it should be no more than 10ms. The inner pc gamer in me kills me sometimes
I know that bike. That's the one which has a small label underneath saying do not drop.
Looking at the speedo "He's not going that fast" see's it blink off above 185 in 6th "The speedo is set to MPH!!!"

I'd like to hear some thoughts about that revzilla video,where a roached out 2005 gsxr 1000 with 55,000 miles on it was over a second a lap quicker than this bike.
It was due to the softer rear to make it more street friendly and only effects heavier riders...like Fagan.
On a top speed track like this one though the gixxer would be smoked.

Set up. That story was click bait shite. A David versus Goliath story. Everyone likes those stories eh? A K5 gixer will not beat a set up V4S on a back to back track test. No chance.
He’s doing 1.56’s there (when I pause the video as he passes the finish line to work it out). Quite happy with my 2.01 on a 2010 gixer600 on a drying track with damp patches a couple of years ago 😉

Its called speedo error, why speedo healers exist. They already stated the Honda was the fastest down the straight speed trap
It's an Italian bike, _some_ part of the electrical system has to be sketchy. Maybe the factory breaks the speedo for good luck, hoping it'll keep the gremlins out of important bits.

What's with the ugly wires coming out of the forks?
They are used to power a stepper motor to adjust the damping circuits on the fly.
I assume they carry a potentiometer signal also, so the ECU knows what position the adjusters are in at any time.

It doesn't display anything above 300kmph even tho bikes actual speed keeps increasing. It's a understanding by all bike brands to not display above 300
