Good to see Gauci get a new club, he used to be our keeper for my club in Australia a long time ago. Hes very tall and good reflexes he is also a current Socceroo 🇦🇺 Hopefully you see some great results from here on Barnsley
Thanks, Andy - it’s good to see different people on the show though. On Tuesday (god willing), I’m doing a Stockport Away End, immediately followed by appearing on their preview show - on Wednesday (I think) we’ll be doing our own preview show
I watched your game on tv and Burton showed their usual resilience but you created chances, as for us Stockport were really good in the first half taking a deserved lead ten sat back in the 2nd half and we could not break them down not really creating much at all gl for next week.
Thanks for this, Phil - as Alan says, we’re at Stockport next week - it’s a worry cos we aren’t breaking teams down anyway! They’re a good side but you “O”s have been flying! Good luck next Saturday in the fa cup - do us all proud v Man City
Seasons gone now. Let's get squad somewhat sorted for next season. Dead wood out and hopefully we have a few good games before end of season. I think that's all we can hope for.
Sadly, in my opinion, the current 'coaching' setup isn't working. We are not getting the best out of what we have regardless of whether the squad is ultimately good enough
It’s bevomeing ridiculous, Andy - we won 4 big games on the trot (rode our luck a bit though) & have then fallen off a cliff with 3 defeats on the bounce! Inconsistent to put it mildly
I 100% totally agree… I think tactically DC is out of his depth along with his coaches… I look at the wendies a team definitely getting relegated 6 months ago with a poor squad ….get danny rohl and look like a proper championship team now! I truly believe if we get a proper tactical footballing coach we will go places, but the board need to start backing the manager or sell up!
@@pe3169Couldn't agree more. We've got a good squad of players except maybe a handful of deadwood. It's the coaching that isn't working. It's like Schopp all over again.
The thing will Red All Over is that they have a number of contributors who aren't first team regulars, but when they are called upon, there is no drop in standards...The owners of BFC could learn a lot.
I think you’ll find, (so called) Denzil, that there’s a massive drop in quality when I’m not on the show. I think I need a lie down & have a word with myself 😂😂
The team is playing with a lack of confidence. The supporters have lost confidence in the players and the club. We need a statement signing or signings to signify to the players and the fans that the club has true ambition to compete for the playoffs and promotion. It's not ok for the owners and the club to say at the beginning of the season, the aim is to make the top6. The market has been set for a 15 goal League 1 striker. Smith from Reading went to Wrexham for 2 million plus. Our club record is 1.5 million which was spent many years ago. We cannot say we are going to compete for the top6 if we don't have the money to compete. The owners have to have a honest discussion with themselves to see whether they have the resources to take us back to the Championship. If they don't then they have to look for fresh investment or new owners. They have to be honest with the fans. Barnsley is not a big club in this league and to make the top6 we need lots of things to go right. A club with limited resources can't make too many mistakes in the transfer market if we are to compete for the top6. This season we made a mistake with Slonina and Craig, our two loan players. They were simply not good enough. Our squad is weak because of the failures of past seasons. Cosgrove, Benson, McCarthy, Watters, Dallas and the many other strikers we have signed over the last few seasons. I think we as fans have lost confidence in the club to buy a decent striker. I think it's pretty clear we have not been able to buy our 1st, 2nd or 3rd choice striker because we don't have the money to attract them to the club. The club has known since last January we needed a striker when Cole didn't sign a new contract. We got Humphries late in the summer and he wasn't fit to start the season. We have waited until the last couple of days of this January's transfer window, and still no striker. It's nearly unfair now for us to sign a striker. The pressure the new guy is going to be under to perform straight away may break him before he gets going. Hopefully we sign 2 to ease the pressure. Our defence is sloppy and has been the biggest weakness this season. Yes they are even worse than our strikers. We have a one year option to retain Pines. And we all wanted him back before the Wycombe match. The past 2 matches he has been poor. He won't be playing with us next season. McCarthy will be gone. There are question marks about Roberts and Earl. And we need a goalkeeper too. Gauci's distribution showed why Killip is not the answer for next season. And the club knew at the start of the season he was not number 1 material. They brought in Slonina who was even worse than Killip. He cost us at least 6 points. That was poor recruitment. And look where we would be with an extra 6 points. This next 6 months is going to be huge for the future of Barnsley Football Club. We need a circuit breaker to get on back on track this season, and then we need to start planning for a realistic future. Do we want to compete for promotion? We probably need new owners. Do we need a better squad? Yes we do. There are probably 6 - 8 new players coming. We need players with passion and character. Do we sell Phillips and Connell? Phillips will have to be sold this summer if we want 3 million plus. And we need a him to score 6 - 8 goals for the rest of the season too. Connell's form has regressed from 2 seasons ago so I don't think there will be much of a market for him and nothing like the valuation of the club will be offered. And will Clarke stay? I'm sure he will have offers from other clubs, and if they have better resources to compete for promotion, I'm sure he will be lost to us. We can't expect a new manager to come in every season and expect them to perform miracles if they don't receive the players to compete for promotion. And before anyone says we have Hourihane ready to be our next manager. No he's not! Whatever happens I will be still supporting Barnsley Football Club. Hopefully I will have the opportunity to visit Oakwell again in late 2026/early 2027.
I found myself nodding throughout your analysis, Michael, whilst also feeling fed up. Your last sentence cheered me up on this dismal Sunday morning Thank you for taking the time to post your thoughts - I’m sure they’ll resonate with many of us
Welcome back Andy , great to see you again , aswell as Tracy, Al , Joe e.t.c. Still not the best performance from BFC, but I think it's a improvement. Still not good enough to challenge for a promotion place though imo. We drastically need a couple of strikers or so in the next few days before the transfer window shuts again. Clock is ticking though and BFC have put more pressure on themselves not bringing in players in the positions we need , so they better get it sorted ASAP or there's no chance we will get in the playoffs and I'm kinda dreading how BFC fans / supporters will react and respond. Also it might just be me , but I couldn't help but think that our loan goalkeeper from Aston Villa kind of looks similar to Joe Beardsall from a distance (in the east stand lower) 😃 , then again though it might just be me lol.
SRs, Gauci looks like a footballer, Joe … not so much. The club said at the start of January (& many agreed, including me) that they were looking at a goalkeeper, a LWB & a striker - we’ve got the 1st two now but we desperately need the final one
@andrewsymcox3150 I agree he looked OK. Was meant to be a joke .. we need strikers desperately .. I still think some of players need to toughen up sick of seen cowardly tackles no commitment . Our manager doesn't seem too bothered about it just sits there .. he should be sacked immediately that's just my opinion
After listening to Clark's post-match interview, he's starting to sound like Collins. Someone has their hand up his back. What's does the board have to say?
Oakwell is dead as is the club as things are, even the fans now seem to be accepting mediocrity and poor standards, managers excuses, board disinterest. We are and act like a non league club

Great hearing from you from darn under...
He had a good debut, troyoro - commanded his area well. Is your club Adelaide?
@@andrewsymcox3150 actually I'm a Central Coast Mariners fan (profile pic) but he was a backup for us many years ago
@ all the best, Troyoro
Thank you Tracy, always good to see Alan and Joe.
Thanks Stephen
Great show, good presentation by Tracy. Good result, clean sheet, still in touch with the play offs, lots of twists and turns for the next 4 months. 😊
The whole season could turn on getting a goal scoring striker, Phil - were crying out for one
Nice to see Andy back.

Don’t give up all hope, tyke - 4 points from playoffs - a couple of wins & it’d be game back on! A couple of defeats & you’ll be right
Sadly, in my opinion, the current 'coaching' setup isn't working. We are not getting the best out of what we have regardless of whether the squad is ultimately good enough

Dyer should have been on after 60 min lads for humphries am sure he couldn't have done any worse and would have been looking to impress
Josiah looked off it in the Trophy game he played but then, they all did. You never know, he might have added something
Burton are just about the worst side ive seen at oakwell and we still couldnt beat em.We can forget the championship.
This team isn't good enough for sustaining Championship football 😕
They’d won their last 3 games, Andrew, but you’re right!
I can't see board been happy with that result and the spreadsheet will show what's needed
Let's sign another goalkeeper
I think Gauci did fine / I liked the way he commanded his area, Marc - we absolutely need strikers
@ I know, Marc, not enough grit in our tackles
If we stop giving the ball away while we are attacking & put the ball in the back of the net, we will have loads of energy.
It’s the poor passing that frustrates me, Neil
After listening to Clark's post-match interview, he's starting to sound like Collins. Someone has their hand up his back. What's does the board have to say?
I think he’s making it clear we need to sign players up front- I’m worried it’ll be a panic buy this late on
Be greatful for the board lads and lasses. We should count ourselves lucky
Tongue in cheek eh, Jaya? 😊
Did Andy Dallas score two goals yesterday?
He did indeed, Neil! My brother has consistently said that he knows how to finish
Oakwell is dead as is the club as things are, even the fans now seem to be accepting mediocrity and poor standards, managers excuses, board disinterest. We are and act like a non league club
Dropped to 10th but only 4 points off the playoffs - if nothing changes by the end of Monday, I feel there’ll be a lot of people disgruntled, Danny
We would not have scored of we played till midnight defo need 2 strikers in kelechi Defo man of match and should not have been subbed
I agree, Andy - I think Kelechi was subbed cos he was out on his feet
