    Just B R I L L I A N T - Thank you "RODE" & Thank You, good sir, for producing this awesome advice for the RØDECaster Pro. This unit makes a HUGE improvement in all my projects & productions. Agreed, I love the Rodecaster Pro and what it does for my Live-Streams. I am a solo operator currently producing & hosting 6 weekly shows (3 on Facebook & 3 on TH-cam). The RØDECaster Pro has been a reliable workhorse, easy to navigate and continues to impress. I am keeping a keen ear & watching the progress of the new Beta update 2.1 version before I chose to update. Once again Thank you for making this Video. Cheers iSpike (New King Of Live Streaming)

    I noticed you said it would work on Instagram live as well in the comments. So the USB port is going to my PC to stream elsewhere. I was going to put my iPhone on a tripod and do Instagram live while I do this. But since I’m wearing headphones they wouldn’t be able to hear the person I’m speaking with on my video call. So if the audio is going out of USB to my computer for the TH-cam live stream, could I simultaneously do the USB-C to my iPhone so the people on Instagram can hear as well? Or is it one of the other? Thanks!

    I just realized there’s only one USB out. If I’m using that to go to my computer for live streaming to TH-cam, is there anyway to also send the audio to my iPhone so the people on Instagram live can hear it as well? Thanks!

    • @SeanLamb
      @SeanLamb  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could hypothetically use USB out to go to your phone for Instagram Live, then you could get something like an iRig to take the stereo 1/4" out from the Rodecaster into another device for TH-cam Live. But honestly I've been underwhelmed by the quality that comes from the 1/4" outs on the board. But in theory, it should work.

    • @SeanLamb

      Or, there might be a multi streaming app/software that will allow you to use the same audio for multiple streams. Like, a digital hub that broadcasts to several different outlets.

    I had a thought, as this concept interests me. . Your video was about Rodecaster Pro quality audio going through your cell phone for Facebook Live. . If you wanted to do a video but not have it live on Facebook-- could you do the steps you say in this video but instead of doing on FB Live you can just record via video on your IPhone? My thinking is you can then take that video off your phone onto your computer and then post it as a video, say on your TH-cam channel.. Hell, that may be exactly what you did with this video, at least the last part. Lastly, if you can do that you can either just upload the video as you recorded it or even put in Adobe Premiere (which I have) and add a few graphics in there for editing too. What do you think--am I on the right path here?

    • @SeanLamb
      @SeanLamb  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question. You can absolutely just use the video mode without actually going Facebook Live. You can use the camera app on your phone, or I downloaded an app called FiLMiC Pro which gives me more fine tuning options with the camera. It also has an audio meter which will make things a little bit easier for you as you monitor your audio levels.

    Currently I'm trying all sort of ways to work my rodecaster into my atem mini but the audio is extremely noisy and unusable. I'm so close to giving up on the rodecaster but I still have a little bit of hope left. This mixer is supposed to be a king of all podcast mixer but lack outputs compatibility and that is really disappointing. I want to use this device as a standalone with a camera, mainly with the atem so I don't have to post edit. Is there anyways to get the audio pitch perfect through 3.5mm?

    • @SeanLamb
      @SeanLamb  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is a Hail Mary attempt, but what if you got a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter and tried to run out of your USB-C on the Rodecaster into the 3.5mm on the camera? Again, that is a last ditch effort answer. But hypothetically it should work. Wow. What a great question!

    • @PaulAllenMarketer
      @PaulAllenMarketer 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Make sure the 3.5mm input on the Atem is set to line input in the audio settings. The default setting is to mic which will create the noise you describe. I purchased a two mono jacks to stereo 3.5mm jack lead and it all works fine.

Also, I've seen others take the included usb-c to Usb cable and add a camera connector to connect to an iphone. Can I just use apple's USB-c to lightning cable and eliminate the need for a connector. ( I want to use my iphone to make a backup copy of the recording so I'll open up an app like italk to create the backup) I guess I'm trying to find the easiest way to connect my phone. Is the Media connector required to transfer audio files or can I do it usb-c to lightning cable.

    • @SeanLamb

      The best way to connect your phone for call purpose would be the TRRS to TRRS and then just use the 3.5mm to Lightening that Apple usually includes with their phones. That's a SUPER CLEAR way to connect. I actually have a video on that too, if you get a chance, check it out! Please, any more questions you have, don't hesitate.

    I never thought about using the usb to connect to your phone. I always connect using the trrs to my phone so that I can do the talk to the people on the stream... can you do that with the usb connect?

    Could you still use your computer to pull audio through a different port? I use the USB C with the rodecaster but today tried out switcher studio but wondering how I can get the audio back from my macbook pro. Any ideas?

    • @SeanLamb
      @SeanLamb  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmmm. Good question. Could you use a 3.5mm cable to run from headphone jack of MacBook to the 3.5mm input of the Rodecaster and pull audio that way? Or even connect MacBook via Bluetooth to the Rodecaster?

    • @SeanLamb
      @SeanLamb  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe try turning down the USB Channel. It might be re-feeding your signal back to you in a loop. Let me know if that works!

    • @trojanhour3366
      @trojanhour3366 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sean Lamb thanks for the fast reply! It’s as a setting through Switcher studio that turns off audio monitoring and that fixed it. Thanks for the awesome video changed the game for us!

      Did u get to use it on Instagram? What phone you use?

    • @TheBlancoProductionz
      @TheBlancoProductionz 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jazman Shakirah I just tried it... it worked!!! Went live on ig and used the audio that was coming out of my RodecasterPro with a Shure SM7b microphone. Also connected my laptop to the rodecasterpro via the 3.5 mm jack to play music. Felt like a DJ! lol
      I tested it on 3 types of iPhones; iPhone 6, iPhone 8, and iPhone X. All worked perfectly fine.
      Thinking about it, I can even connect a seperate phone to the rodecaster via Bluetooth and take in calls during my live! (Haven’t tried it)
      Side note: The phone connected via usb to the rodecaster did not work on phone calls nor video calls.
