    I love how Chinese martial arts is so chill with the family running around and the teacher is cool with it. No uniform or rank, just learning.

    Dear faimly and those, who help us rediscover,
    Having spent over 30 years in Karate, wotching such videos leave me like in a Wonderland. How simple, yet efficient and humble at the same time. Long live the families and practitioners.

      @@MonkeyStealsPeach Does Dai family have heavy weapons training or stone locks or similar? It's not unknown for internal arts to use large weapons and training implements. Fu Zhensong the Bagua master used to use heavy iron balls for training, and the old style Bagua broadswords were massive.

    Well the definition in his arms and very straight spine is not from doing the forms. Its from their solo practice which is very strenuous and is still not publicly taught. Thats whats ment by indoor teaching. You can do these outer forms forever and have very little power...might as well join a boxing gym. However with the solo training exercise not taught on this film...it transforms those moves and the entire body in about 2 years into a powerful internal art.

    • @ItsAllGoodGames
      @ItsAllGoodGames 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Just call the solo practice what it is, Zhan Zhuang.
      And it is publicly taught if you know where to look lol

      I love how we are still mistifying this art. I love traditional martial arts but for historical purposes at this stage of my life. We still believe in all of these hidden stuff.
      Again I love tradition but we all have to focus on functionality, and let's appreciate this documentaries for what they are.
      I know there's a few generations that still fancy on magical arts, let's pretend they existed, they are now gone. You want to have a ripped body,.you just go to the gym ans train hard, you want to be able to resist some hard hits, go train a martial art where you get hit. You still want to believe in some fictional martial art, go watch a movie from the 80s. You want to keep tradition, learn some traditional martial arts but keep in mind what you are learning.
      Sorry for any typos or syntax errors but my main language is spanish.

    • @ItsAllGoodGames

      @Ken Jay I am saying that there are no secret power building exercises,
      Proper zhan zhuang progressive training will develop the internal power.
      It is very dynamic but not very painful past a certain point from what i understand.
      There's a huge misconception that i had as well regarding Kung Fu, in that i didn't associate Kung Fu with HEALTH.
      After reading many books and articles, watching many videos, and even finding a teacher, I am not convinced that HEALTH CULTIVATION and MARTIAL CULTIVATION are 2 sides of the same coin.
      This is really really REALLY GOOD NEWS!!!
      because in the past i had my doubts that learning Kung Fu had any real life benefit in the world of guns and other weapons, and it made me consider just learning boxing or something in which you can get some practical results much faster.
      Now however, I understand that training Kung Fu is about HEALTH FIRST, in fact its about transforming your entire organism from the inside out. The combat aspects are actually of later importance, as the pinnacle of health preservation philosophically speaking.
      Kung Fu heals the bodymind and cultivates spirit, in chinese you can say it cultivates the 3 treasures jing qi shen.
      This will transform your life, you can improve your character and accomplish your innermost dreams.
      And it all stems from ONE SINGLE PRACTICE, ZHAN ZHUANG. PERIOD. THERE ARE NO OTHER SECRETS, ITS ALL ABOUT ZHAN ZHUANG.
      its hidden right in plain sight, its ironic really.

    • @ItsAllGoodGames
      @ItsAllGoodGames 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Ken Jay When I say Zhan Zhuang progressive training i am referring to movement practices to learn how to maintain the principles of Zhan Zhuang during movement, and then testing power release, then sparring, etc
      Maybe it was painful for you because the training was concentrated, probably could have been less painful if progress was more slow and gentle.
      From my experience so far, most of the pain is in the beginner stage, gradually paving the way to greater and greater comfort.
      If you say there are secret methods, then please reveal them :)

    I give you now a Golden Tip ! First stand in dunhoushi till and only after your xiao Zhou tian is fulfilled ( a sensation of vibrations in the psychic center) then practice the other movements bao Dantian , kun Dantian , zha Dantian etc . If you are never stand in dunhoushi till your soles of the feet are sweating than it’s a waste of time to go into further practice

      Hmm, gotta be honest here, but I try not to sound rude or arrogant: I think he speaks better than most foreigners I've heard speak, however he probably lacks basics (in the sense of "has never intensively learned the language, maybe with classical Chinese as a background for better understanding of the modern language"), so he reached a plateau, that's very hard to surpass. Of course it's totally enough to come around in China, I just don't think that the word "excellent" is appropriate.
