Primary election results: The state of Colorado Republican party

- State Senator Barb Kirkmeyer (R) joined Kyle Clark to talk about the "civil war" inside the state Republican party.
Colorado held its 2024 primary election on Tuesday, June 25. Voters chose Democratic and Republican candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives, the University of Colorado Board of Regents, the Colorado state legislature and other local races in Denver and across the state.
All three of the U.S. House seats currently or most recently held by Republicans in Colorado are up for grabs this year, after each incumbent announced they would not seek reelection. One of those incumbents, District 3 Rep. Lauren Boebert, switched districts and sought the Republican nomination in District 4.
Elections for these House seats will be held along with the U.S. presidential election on Nov. 5.
On Tuesday, voters in Congressional District 4 elected a representative to fill the remainder of retired Rep. Ken Buck's term, which ends in January.

The problem for Colorado Republicans are the MAGA IDIOTS. They are dragging the party off the edge of a cliff lead by a FELON who cares about no one but himself.
Here's the thing that confuses me. Demographically, there ain't much daylight between the populace of Congressional district 3 and district 4. District 3 basically CHASED Boebert off because they were tired of her. And yet, somehow, repubs in District 4 are ALL-IN for Bobo (of which I'm a resident). As if we won't also grow tired of her antics, combined with generally being a bad representative. ESPECIALLY when there were at least a couple decent other options on offer.
District 3 has Aspen and Telluride and a ton of other liberal mountain towns in it. TF you mean demographically there isn't much daylight? That's just factually untrue. What's the most liberal town in CO-4? Highlands Ranch?
Bobert got a plurality in CD4, not a majority, meaning that the majority of primary voters voted *against* Bobert. She only won because the vote was split amongst her opponents.
Unfortunately boebert obliterated her opponents in the more populated areas e.g. DougCo. To the poster's point, no idea how those people voted for her. She brings absolutely nothing but embarassment to the table but she has brand recognition.

You're not thinking like us. Think of her as a reaction to the liberal Denver/Boulder politics, and the Biden politics nationally. Many of us MAGA types fled the Denver metro area during Covid and bought houses in DougCo and other red areas that aligned with our views. I'm not at all surprised that CO-4 will be redder than 4 years ago. Just like Denver's districts will be bluer. The only flip this year might be CO-8, as the raw primary numbers suggest GOP turnout better than expected (I think 8k votes more was what I peeked at last night).
Also, going back to Boebert, plurality or not, as candidates dropped out, her support consolidated. I was originally a Leisy supporter until he bowed out. I think if one or two more of the rural guys dropped, Boebert would get more of their votes too and get beyond 50%.

I wish they would say what percentage of registered voters come out to vote. It’s not much of a win or referendum if 25%-40% vote.
I have been living in Colorado for over 50 years since I legally immigrated from Japan. It was a great place to be and people were much more in common sense type and loving and proud of the country. Now it has become a disaster, and what a disgraceful state has become, with so many people came from so-called blue state with radical belief and never care about proud in their heart. The state will be rotten no time. Sad! Where did all these radical and stupid idea come from? My families moved out of the state for all these silly and incompetent governing people.
If the 4th District chooses to send a horrid screeching harpy and insurrectionist back to Washington, it speaks directly to their character.

Everyone I know has left to other states. Most to Florida. Colorado is lost, Another California. I'm in Parker, and I have been to that shithole Denver in 5 years. Here in Colorado Springs we have an Independent mayor if that wasn't a canary in the coal mine for the Colorado GOP I don't know what is. We are a majority unaffiliated state not Alabama. I know plenty Republicans all over the country who may vote Republican locally but will not vote for Trump. Polls saying Trump is winning every swing state but the Democratic candidates for Senate in those same states are leading their Republican opponents. Something is not adding up in this year's polling.
