Thank you so much. I was able to Service and get an Old Seiko from my grandpa to work thanks to this Video. You can't Imagine how much the Ticking of the watch and knowing that my pops heard it for a long time too means to me.
I just now managed to take off and replace the balance wheel on my 6119c for the first time ever. I got enough confidence to try it from watching your assembly video. Thanks for making it look easy (possible). Feeling epic right now!
Considering that you have to work around the camera... and considering the condition of my neck... How DO you DO?! It would be interesting to see a clip of seeing how you do the "Reach Around" there!!! ;)
the gears on my 6119c turn freely until i place the plate on top of them( around 6:30 in your vid). I dont see any defects on the plate and the watch kept time originally. I was cleaning it and trying to fix the date function. Do you have any suggestions about why the plate might hinder the wheels turning? It happens without being screwed on.
christophGutie2799 one of the wheels will not be in pivot holes / jewels. Most likely the escape. I am presuming you have removed the train bridge. Trick is to put the bridge on gently , you know when it’s on right as it fits properly and the wheels turn freely. I’m my experience it’s nearly always the escape that’s not in the right position and you can’t really see the pivot through the jewel so just put the screws in very loosely so you can observe from the side to see it the escape wheel is vertical. Never force anything because if you bend a pivot then it’s all over and you will need another part / donor. To test everything is how it should be is once screwed ( presuming you have removed the balance and pallet fork- you need to know what your doing with those parts) when you wind the mainspring the whole train wheels will whirl away freely
Wow! You managed an entire disassembly without saying a word! Did you lose a bet with your wife or something? 😎 Seriously, it's funny how a TH-camr's process changes and evolves since the early days eh? Good video, though, despite the lack of play-by-play.
shenlun thanks for your comment. You know I didn’t realise there was not one! I will produce this soon for the channel so subscribe and hit the bell button so you know when it’s been uploaded .

Great job all round, especially working with an obtrusive camera 👍
The Silence is DEAFENING, MB! The Ticking, in the background, is louder than my Tinnitus! Well done!

Do you know if in the 25 jewels version of 6119 the main barrel is jeweled?
Animalkisser sorry I don’t know. Didn’t know there was a 25 jewel version?
They would all be using the same barrel I would think
