You need to talk to the guard to get into the dinner party, there is no secret way. So you guys have to get rid that bounty. You also need to raise your disposition with the guard to 70 or wear valuable gear/"upper class" outfit to be let in.

This is one of the first big open world RPGs with entirely voiced npcs, a physics engine, and radiant AI (laughably dated now but then it was pretty fresh) The behavior and looks of the NPCs weren't a major discussion like they were now, and the jankiness was and still is considered a biproduct of pushing an open world RPG to it's limits. The graphics were only considered decent for the time they came out, but impressive for a game of this scope. A lot of the lighting and atmosphere holds up well today, and it was ESPECIALLY impressive considering this came out only FOUR years after Morrowind and directly comparing the two at the time of Oblivions release was pretty breath taking. As a kid, it was like getting sucked into a new world. So I'd wager to say it's very well made.

Would be crazy if in the next Elder Scrolls game you can go back to the realm of Oblivion and can find Oldman's skeleton still on the side of that rock. In my mind, Oldman dying in Oblivion will always be canon. #makeoldmancanon

If I remember correctly, you have to increase your favor with him until he likes you and he lets you in, or you convince him that you're someone else.

I think the problem with the shop is that there's a conflict with one of the plug ins. It doesn't count as trespassing and you can take some of the items without getting a bounty. Good video as always
I bet that the khajit outside the portal to sheogoraths realm was already mad when you saw her because she escaped from the madness of border watch and wanted to go into an insane realm to get rid of her insanity but it was too late!
This should help with the Sanguine quest. Clear your bounty, raise your disposition with the guard and talk to him when he is posted there and he'll let you in.
