Not only that but he’s wearing blue glassed fir a blue laser. You typically use red or orange glasses for blue laser because blue glasses will let all of the blue light through

HARSH VITHLANI That is how it works... blue glasses only let blue light in. We see things that are blue because they reflect blue light into our eyes.
Did you realise that you had the incorrect laser safety eyewear on when you were using the blue laser? Your eyewear should have orange lenses to block the blue laser radiation, not blue lenses. :-(

@@Greek_guy7 While that is true for opaque materials, thr lenses are translucent. The fact they are blue means that they are a blue filter, so they ONLY allow blue light through. Therefore they are useless against a blue laser.
@@Greek_guy7 You're getting confused between absorption spectra and emission spectra. Leaves are green because chlorophyll in the leaves absorbs specific wavelengths of the visible light spectra ( mostly blue due to it being high energy) and emits (reflects) all other wavelengths. The resulting colour being green due to how our eyes work. With the blue lenses, they absorb most of the lower wavelengths of the visible light spectra and emit it more in the infra red wavelengths and heat, but since they are also transparent, the blue light passes through unobstructed. I.e. the glasses would have no colour if there was no blue light, in the same way leaves are green, because they would emit infrared which we can't see.

To people pointing out you need orange / red goggles to counter blue lasers, I would add that you should buy actual laser safety goggles rated for specific wavelengths (e.g. 190 nm - 532 nm for blue or green lasers) in addition to checking the color of the goggles. Some green goggles work well against blue lasers, while many orange sunglasses would be useless against blue lasers because they generally allow some blue light to 'leak' through. Look for goggles with an OD value of over 3 (preferably more) for the wavelength of the laser you're using.

Apple is already aware of laser damage to cameras. It's already in all repair documentation and is not covered under warranty. It's treated the same as a cracked display.

Funny story, one random afternoon I was on my Snapchat on my 6s Plus and I notice a strange little dot (just like the ones in the vid) on my front camera, it was present in very single camera app, I cleaned my phone and even removed my screen protector. There was nothing I could do so I just lived with for months till I finally did something about and got a replacement last October. Now after watching this vid I know the problem 😂, a few days prior to my discovery a friend in class brought a cheap little laser, me being curious and an idiot I pointed it at my front cam for a couple of seconds for some pics. I had to live with that annoying orb in my selfies for about 8 months. So be careful kids, even a cheap dollar store toy laser can cause damage to your phone.
