- In this video, you can see me learn that cicadas easily outmatch the human voice when recording outdoors during the summer. I have rudimentarily mitigated the issue digitally, but the issue is I am horrible with such technology, so you have to suffer with my poor video skills.
Anyway, you can see in this video I am able to do a water pump change at home, with basic hand tools. The car does not have to be on a lift, and you can do the whole job from the topside of the engine.
I will be working on getting some better recording material. If you like this type of video or want to see more of a certain type of video, or just want to leave some tips, be sure to leave a comment!
I will leave some weblinks of tools I use or recommend, as soon as I learn how to do that. Good luck with your repair!
Wow very good job l try to do it my car tomorrow thanks bro
Where is the coolant removal? You should drain the coolant for us, brother
nice video! Do you recommend changing the waterpump before it breaks? At a certain milage maybe?
Thanks for watching! I believe the recommended mileage to change the water pump on a Prius is around 60-100k miles. But I've heard some go beyond 200k, and some at 40k.
I would say if the car is not exhibiting any problems, keep going on it. But if you already have high mileage and you're already doing a service on something else (alternator/fan/plugs/AC/etc) then it's a great time to do it then. Knock out two birds with one stone mantra.
Good job what’s the mileage
Your check engine light is still on.
Ok 238000 miles is that the factory water pump
This is not the factory water pump. I've done this change once before, but I don't remember the exact mileage. The factory Toyota pump was made by Aisin, which I also used.
