  • This is how I make a crochet soap saver pouch.
Extend the life of your favorite soap with a cotton soap saver pouch. This crochet pattern is made up using the Bobble Stitch, I have used this stitch in a few other patterns and really love how it looks with cotton yarn.
You can find the full pattern free on my bog.

    Materials Needed
Cotton Yarn - I used Knit Picks Dishie and Premier Yarn Home Cotton
    US I9/5.5mm Crochet Hook
    Darning or Yarn Needle
    Soap Bar
You will need to know some basic terms for this project
bobble = 4 double crochet bobble stitch blsc = back loop single crochet ch = chain
dc = double crochet hdc = half double crochet sc = single crochet slst = slip stitch
    st(s) = stitch(es)
Special Stitch in this pattern is the Bobble Stitch
The bobble stitch combines the technique of the cluster stitch and shell technique. Shells are usually made using double crochet stitches and are formed by working several stitches into the same stitch (or space). Clusters are formed by working several stitches into different stitches then joining the tops into one stitch. The bobble stitch combines these techniques by working double crochet stitches up to the yarn over into the same stitch, then joining the tops into a single top.
In this pattern you will be creating a bobble stitch by crocheting 4 double crochets up to the yarn over into a chain 1 space then combining them into one stitch at the top. More details on the pattern are on my blog post linked above.
I hope you enjoy this video :)

Wow, using the ribbon yarn is genius! It looks so much better than just chaining a draw string.

I think this is a good, easy to follow video. I have bought 2 patterns and can't get the start right. Got it with this video 😊

Hmmm, is it crocheting into the backside of the chain? I do feel that was tricky for me when I first started, especially when I discovered crocheting into the back bump...I personally struggle with Amigurumis, lol I just can't sew things together.

@Savlabot yes, could be. Also hard to see and understand by description where to do the 4 turning chains. Thanks for answering 🙏❤️

I believe it’s because of the wording that’s what I had the most difficulty with it’s 12 chains that you start in the second chain (skip one chain) and begin with single crochet; 9sc, 3sc in the last chain join with a slip stitch into the beginning of chain 2 that you didn’t work this sets you up for working the back of the chain it helps if you crochet 2 of the chain loops so you know you only have one loop to crochet when doing the back of the chain. This is now your “foundation chain” personally I would begin with a foundation single crochet chain as they are easier to work and handle, chains are harder to maintain tension and like to move around, chains and foundation sc are two different stitches as well.
I hope this helps as the author states her beautiful pattern is on her blog and I am very grateful for her providing such a wonderful resource, I certainly appreciate her hard work and skill and mean no disrespect to her at all. 🌻 spread 💕 and kindness ripples

Not a very good teaching video. Try Bag O Days she takes the time to show you each stitch and how to form the bottom.

I appreciate that you took time to make a comment. But my videos are patterns not how to crochet videos. I make videos for people that already are familiar with crochet and how to create simple stitches. I think it is ok to have videos online that don't break everything down, I personally don't need to see every step and felt like there are probably other people out there that don't need to see every stitch explained because they already know how to make a single crochet or know what a bobble stich is. There are so many videos out there that teach how to crochet that it is really easy to find out how to do these simple stitches that I am using in my pattern. I don't think I need to show every step. My target audience are people that already have the skill and I think it is ok for someone to make videos for people that already know how to crochet. Bag O Day has great videos and that is her style, I don't have to make my videos just like hers, it is just fine for us to have different target audiences.
