Nice. I use expressions all the time, but didn't know about loopout() which I will use all the time now. This may be more advanced, but instead of entering numbers for some of the values in linear() you can use stuff like linear(time, 0, thisComp.duration, 0, thisComp.width) to work with any comp size or length.
Super clear and easy to follow. This made AE less daunting for me. I also appreciate the zoom feature. So many content creators don’t do that and things get blurry on mobile even with high resolution
Thorough and easy to understand. I can't believe I didn't look into this sooner, that example you gave with selecting the end keyframes will save me SO much time! Thank you
How would I loop "cycle" each individual light with their delay expression still applied? It seems that when I try to add a "LoopOut" expression to the layer, it ignores the "valueTime" expression already applied. (Video time: 17:30) Great tutorial btw!
Hello there, thanks for the video! What if i want to make a character run for a while than stops, than run again, and i want to animate the run by using the loopout expression. So how would i do this? In a simple way: how do i stop an expression than turn it on again?
In that situation I would create my loop cycle, pre-comp it, in the parent comp set the final frame to where I want the character to stop running, then Time -> Freeze At Last Frame. Dupe the precomp, and drag the dupe so it starts after the pause. Hope that helps, hard to explain via text!
As for the linear function, I don't understand why do you need to specify the speed, the length and the time already dictate the speed, so this argument has no meaning.

My pleasure !
Wow this is some A+ stuff right there. Had no idea that just putting in time on a text layer would make that happen.
Expressions have some surprising capabilities!
dude, you have no idea how much this helped me today. thank you for your time!
My pleasure friend ! Share with your friends !
this is sick bro, I'll have to actually learn After Effects now!
You are a great teacher - just wanted to make sure you knew!
@@veemoh thank you !

Thanks so much, very useful! Finally understand how linear works ahaha! Subbed!
I am that weirdo who give you some silver on reddit. Awesome work, sure very helpful for beginners!
Thanks dude!
Great video! Lots of good info, easy to understand. Saved!
How do you use that rotation expression so that it rotates only for a period of time?
Thank you so much for this video
great content bro. Keep it up. I watched this on reddit.
Much appreciated!
thanks a lot....Is there any expression for circle blust?
Thanks for the tutorial. How do you slow down the rotation speed at a certain point ? I tried with a slider control but it doesnt work.
Awesome content! Very easy to understand! Thank you! :)
You're welcome glad you found it useful !
Great tutorial, will save me lots of time @ work 😊👍
Will there be a part two? 🥹

There's nothing easy about this. I'd never know to type in Turnspeed or make a variable. I don't even know what that is
