How can this great tutorial only have 5 likes, Like for real, this was really helpful to me! I am a beginning animator and this helped me out in a way I definitely didn't expect when I clicked on the video. I appreciate the tutorials you make and want to thank you ! :)
hmmm- does not seem to be any project files for this, when I am logged into my account. I can find the tutorial but does not seem to have the download files posted anymore. It would be great if they were there still to make following along more beneficial.
Wow I have some wheels looping from another tutorial that suggested using loopOut(type = "cycle", numKeyframes = 0); but I could not figure out how to slow it down. I will now reprogram my wheels to use what you've demonstrated here. So thanks, I can see the light now !
I'm at 9:30 and going to watch it until the end tomorrow. It's so interesting and so well done, but I'm too tired. Hopefully I can find more free content for this! Thank you!
Your channel is exactly what I need right now. I am a growing motion-graphics freelancer and still have the feeling that a lot of my animations could be achieved faster. Your Videos provide exactly what I need. Thank you so much for that!
I love this turorial so much!! I’m an avid AE user but I don’t really use expressions. I am going to start forcing myself to. I am a programmer as well so I will have a lot of fun with this! Thank you! 😊
Honestly this is a wonderful tutorial but it still scares the life out of me. But with preservence I will be more comfortable with this soon. I will continue watching more examples of expressions until I feel comfortable using it on my own.Thank you for the amazing tutorial!
Very useful thank you, far better than Adobe’s own. Could you maybe put the expressions on the screen in a bigger size next time? Would be an extra bit of help. Thank you.
I made a clock with key frames a month ago, wish I saw this back then! The controller really seems to simplify things. If I wanted the hands to start at 1oclock, spin a few times and land at 5oclock, I'm guessing I could just key frame the controller?
I'm learning a lot don't get me wrong, but it's ironic that he started with "Nobody likes to do math" and went "We're gonna do math" 5 minutes after LMAO
Hi I am not getting the list of expressions any more. It is not finishing typing my procedures or variable names. Example: I write "wigg" and it should offer to finish the name of my procedure with "LE" -> "wiggLE". or I write "to" and it is not offering me list of procedures from which I can choose "toComp()" for example. I must had clicked something somewhere in AE. I hate how it is easy to mess this program up.
So much Thank you for giving us insight into the expression world, I now began to understand AE expressions. I will spend my time understanding them more.I really applaud the way you taught us.million thnx.
how is the shortcuts and any thing you click on the keyboard is written ,, i don't think it is in montage , is it a software or what screen recorder do you use
Thanks so much for this! You are seriously a great teacher. Is there a way to use expressions/controls to cycle through different images? I need to create an animation of an egg beater with eight different images of the egg beater (the eight images are of the beater in eight different positions of rotation). Thank you!
I use Ae cc2018 in my Mac pro 2016 now ,when I hit U ,nothing happened. the same is Command+return as you said when finished expression-writing . Do you know what am I missing ?THX
add the following expression to the end of each hand + (the time you want*120). You may have to adjust the start time as needed for your project depending on the location of the playhead.
just subscribed :) really enjoyed watching this tutorial. it was super clear and concise and easy to follow. will definitely be checking out the other expression videos!
Good tutorial. I am happy to learn about the expressions but, moreover, the problem of the clock was exactly my problem of the moment and it is now solved. Thank you.

Great video, I love that you explained how everything works instead of just showing the steps.
Very useful thank you, far better than Adobe’s own. Could you maybe put the expressions on the screen in a bigger size next time? Would be an extra bit of help. Thank you.

Exactly! And you could also add a little ease in the graph editor to make the whole thing smoother.
As a beginner to expressions, this was SOOOOO easy to understand! thank you so much for this!

is it safe to assume that time*(3/360); would result in the same speed?
It became clear that it is once you introduced the slider variable. Cheers dude :)
Hi your teaching is very nice please help me how to make digital timer?
That's a good idea! There are lots of ways you could do that in AE.

Yeah you can totally do that with an array connected to if/then statements for opacity.
Thanks from Iran

This tutorial literally covers expressions, just watch through it

Hi there, how you calculate/make the clock accurate on time?
add the following expression to the end of each hand + (the time you want*120). You may have to adjust the start time as needed for your project depending on the location of the playhead.
it will be accurate twice a day :)
How to learn all other expressions. This video only time expression.
