  • On Joel Kramer’s SourceFlix Biblical Archaeology Study Tour of Israel he took us to a series of caves that were used for centuries, but were known to have been used during the AD 67 Bar Kokhba Revolt. How people lived in order to survive was incredible.

I think what strikes me most about living in caves and trying to escape persecution is that even though we have a couple thousand years of progress from then to now so many regions in these lands still exist in primitive circumstances. True… big cities with modernization but time has not trampled this land. Pilgrims of some sort or another still live in caves and shacks. They still dress as their culture requires. They care for their animals much like the old ways. It’s heart warming to see that there is a place in this world where time almost stands still.

Thank you Veronica, have you seen this video on Christians living under ground at Cappadocia for hundreds of years? th-cam.com/video/SCV8yqQtQU0/w-d-xo.html If I was a Roman soldier I would not want to be ordered to follow the Jewish people into the tunnels, terrifying! 👍

@@biblicaltours3541 no I haven't seen it but will definitely check it out. I reckon those Roman soldiers did a lot against their will.

I believe the average person of the day would have been smaller than the average Westerner of today..
