Imagine being the creator of the game watching this fight, knowing you put alot of work into making this boss and gave it some secret surprises too hoping it would take the players some time to figure it out and beat it......and then kirito shows up and solos it first try
Kirito didn't really solo The Gleam Eyes, I think Asuna and Klein softened the boss up somewhat, with Corvatz's men having at minimum done some damage to it, it was Kirito using Starburst Stream that finished the boss off and also Kirito did use at least one sword skill before utilising dual wielding, to take aggro off Asuna. So to say Kirito soloed it would be an exaggeration, it would be more accurate to say that Kirito did a good majority of the damage, but did have some help getting the boss to that point. Heck, Kirito ended up about one attack from dying had the boss not died by the end of the skill.
Considering the dev always meant this to be a true death game where if you die in the game you die in real life, it would be an even bigger fuck you if he intended it to be unbeatable at the first try
1st season had a real threat of death and it was a rather dark story. Every season after that MC was way to overpowered and death was possible but unlikely.
i can see why kirito collapsed to the ground right when the fight ended, like imagine being in a fight that you know if you lose, you and everyone you love will die, and already with that pressure having to keep up and reading your enemies attacks, it’s a lot to have on your shoulders, after being done it’d be too quiet, i feel like i’d be dizzy afterwards.
why can't i find a single anime with similar vibe as SAO season 1 (first 12 eps),i have been watching anime and reading manga/manhwa/manhua for years and yet not a single one had this vibe. idk how you would call it,it's very pleasing.

Or do we really think that Kirito is actually using the stats from that coat that he got from the first floor boss? He totally couldn’t just be making his weapon look like the same sword or anything. First of all, Asuna already explained right before the boss fight why she didn't use a shield (because it would lower her speed), Klein didn't use a shield because his katana is two handed (or at least he used two-handed skills). I really dont understand your point with Kirito's coat, because throughout the story his coat changes, the only thing that remains is dark color of the coat. What makes you think that he could dual-wield the entire time? Kirito mentioned that he obtained dual-wielding skill not long before visiting Lizbeth(and long after Sachi death) and after the boss fight he also explains the reason for hiding it. You may ask why Kirito didn't use a shield before he got that skill? Again, before the battle with Gleam Eyes Asuna said that there are people who wield one-handed sword because of their battle-style(or smth like that).

I don't think sao will ever top this arc over the entire series. Like alicization was good, but it didnt make me jump over a scene like in sao arc. Its really sad that we didnt get to see full 100 floors of aincrad in its true nature of death game. Well I kinda did with the psvita game and boy it was a pretty fun ride and definitely wished the author had wrote it instead of cutting it off half way 😭. Maybe its just that sao raw concept of death game inticed me so much that when the first arc was over, it didnt feel truly like sao. Death was imminent in every arc but wasnt the same like it was in sao where everything was just dependent on theirselves not the outside world.
I know it wasn't really the focus of this scene but Kiriti didn't get any type of item from the floor 74 boss Man's got the very coat he's wearing now after beating the first floor boss

This show got me into anime and i thoroughly enjoyed the 1st Season
