Beautiful start to the video Zach, and then my heart sank. I'm glad to hear Winnie's doing ok, give her a few extra hugs and kisses from me. Having gone through my own pets dramas I know how it is. It's expensive but those of us who have fur babies would do anything for them, right? Alastair looked so happy to see his cousins, and drunk Alastair looks to be a whole lot of fun.

Well...Alaister feels more mexican, cause HE IS mexican...he was born in Mexico City and all his childhood lived there...culture is in his blood...Zach has mexican roots but he is third generation, lost the language, but Al teach him sometimes.
I was born in USA,my mom to and brothers and sister ,and we speak perfectly Spanish and we consider ourself Mexican we don’t consider ourselves American ,we always speak Spanish... 🇲🇽❤️

I've been dying to get him on camera with some of his Mexican family. It's great we have it captured now
A simple start for Alastair to reclaim his Mexican heritage is to vlog in Spanish. Zach will continue with his English and Alastair will speak Spanish only and turn on the auto-translate in TH-cam. Trust me: you'll see a flood of new Spanish-speaking subscribers coming to your channel. It happened to Adam's & Bernardo's Steps of Two Foreigners TH-cam channel when Bernardo painfully translate accurately into Portuguese subtitles for his Portuguese subscribers. They also banter with each other in Portuguese sometimes so it helps a bit too. Auto-translate is a good way to start in TH-cam. Happy New Year!

Absolutely THIS! I have l lost most of my Spanish and Ukrainian (Learned it from a past relationship). I am now actively reclaiming this part of me. I serve as a Spanish medical interpreter as part of my hospital job.

Another gem of a video, Zach. I hope you realize how truly talented you are at telling a story and making us feel all the emotions each of you are feeling. The lighting, cinematography, edits and music are truly awesome! You could easily be a successful documentarian or short film maker. I loved Alastair’s openness about his heritage and the love between him and his cousins was palpable. Prayers for sweet Winnie’s perfect health and a safe and healthy New Year to you all.
Zach is a very good film maker. I’m sure he is tired of me saying so. I wish he had stayed in school for it, just for the connections one makes.
Beautiful conversation you had about heritage. I am in a very similar situation as dual citizen in the UK living with my Partner in Scotland away from my spanish speaking family. It does take a toll but it is extremely important to acknowledge and talk about it like you guys have done in this. Best wishes! X
