    I have the same bike and I've put over 1300 miles on mine since I got it. At first I absolutely hated it because of the build quality but after fixing most of my problems, I think this bike has paid for itself. Not to mention the gas mileage you get from this little motor.

      @@kapn4611 the bike stock will top out around 45mph. I have done a sprocket swap on the front and rear which gets me up to about 60 top speed and I regularly cruise around 45-55 mph.

    Sprocket doesnt affect the accuracy of the speedometer. Its driven off the front wheel. The only thing that would alter the speedo is changing the front tire size.

    Good review, at the price point, overall quality suffers, like front forks, chain, mirrors, tires, etc. But a great buy once you go through it and do a few tweeks and upgrades. In my viewpoint number 1 upgrade to do is replace the chain with a gold racing chain, (Renthal, Pro Taper, Regina, EK, RK, DID, any name brand quality pre stretched racing chain). The cheap Chinese chain is sub standard and will not only continue to elongate, but will destroy the sprockets with it. Overall ride quality experience with a quality chain is night and day.

    The speedometer is run off of a gear driven cable in the front wheel, it's off regardless of whatyour drive ratio is. I got one of these, mine's off by about 5mph at 25 reading as roughly 30, with deviation getting proportionally worse with speed; 43 is about 35, I think somewhere around 57-60 is 45, and so on, it is pretty horribly off. I'm getting an aftermarket digital dashboard, it's set up to use a hall and magnet system you stick on the wheel for calibration, I'm gonna attempt to swap over to that when it comes.
    As for mods I've done, I've gotten a 22mm nibbi carb, installed the GY6 EGR block plate and plugged the vacuum port that controlled it, removed the insanely restrictive baffle in the back of the exhaust, put in the 17T sprocket, and drilled out the engine mounts to 3/8 and put more appropriate bolts in; when I pulled the stock bolts out before drilling, less than a hundred miles on them and I could see they were hammered.
    This is the same engine that they use in the grom clones, it has almost all the same common problems as far as I can see.
    I replaced the stock carb with the 22mm nibbi because the stock 20mm carbs are known to fail, and I don't trust the knockoff Mikunis, with the Nibbi it seems to run a whole lot better and start even easier, the stock carb seemed to run rich and bog on me, with no adjustment to thin it out.
    The exhaust has a baffle in the back of it that is littke more that a blockoff tube with four roughly 8mm holes drilled in it, it's highly restrictive, and while the bike is louder without it, it's still easily bearable, about as loud as an older truck maybe, and it seems to pick up better as well.
    I'm still trying to figure out how I'm gonna tighten mine, I'm having trouble finding a wrench or socket big enough to fit the top nut though I have the tool to adjust the bottom nut, but be warned; I picked my bike up by the forks the other day, and there's enough steering bearing play that you can *see* it move, that and I get death wobble symptoms if I stop too hard. Check the steering bearing, and either tighten it or have it tightened, for your own safety. Small chance it might improve how the front end feels, but given how insanely light the suspension is in those forks I don't think it'll do much more than stop the death wobble.
    This is what I've come across in my near hundred miles of the X25; The odometer reads 110 but it's about 90 after corrections.
    Long term, I think I might do a disc brake conversion, and very long term, I might build some extra framing that wraps from under the engine, over the head and to the steering stem, to stiffen the frame up and give the engine even more mounts on top of the 3/8 bolt mod. It's a china clone, not a real classic, so there's far more value to modding it than there is to keeping it stock, especially when the mods help both reliability and rideability.

    So I just picked one of these up and I fuckin love it, where I live has a bunch of hills and it has enough power to get me around no problem. Anyone else with the bike I have a question about distance riding on this guy, how far is to far on one of these? I was wanting to take a small road trip on it, maybe 150 mile ride 300 round trip, like 3-4 hour, any thoughts on the lifespan / durability of the bike and engine at a decent distance?

    • @WhitBoss
      @WhitBoss  ปีที่แล้ว

      Those GY6 clone engines are little beasts and I'm sure it would have no problem. Make sure you get the chain fully broken in before and take a spare quart of oil with you and monitor level. Enjoy! I love mine too. Oh yeah, and immediately change out that shipping oil and then again pretty soon after that.

      Gy6 is the standard moped/ shooter motor. Fully automatic with centrifugal clutch. I have one 150cc in my scooter. I also have a pitbike with this style engine and there are a few different types that are longitudinal mounted, while others are lateral. T
      However there are tons of upgrades available.

    I just ordered mine im so scared i never had a motorcycle in my life. What do you mean by it was missing tire valve nuts? does that mean the tire was flat when you got it? I ordered mine from powersportsmax because supposedly they still have it in stock and My order still hasn't processed im really scared. The reviews on powersportsmax isn't that great so i hope they actually do have it in stock. Im on vacation all next week so im hoping it will arrive by next friday. Any other tips for me if i do end up getting it?
