Have no idea how to play but I've been watching these things for years and these are my number one those mid 60s hummingbirds just are the sound of a guitar in my head
Great sounding guitar. Grew up with hummingbirds and others. Good playing Michael. Never go wrong with the Stones. Maybe a Winter version someday. All good. Thanks Norman, the Director.
Good playing! Although they play Jumpin Jack Flash live on electric guitars, the studio recording was actually recorded using acoustic guitars (one in Nashville tuning and the other to Open E) with recorders stuck near the sound holes. Keith demonstrates it in the Film Under the Influence.
The Hummingbird is the only Gibson acoustic model that has ever called out to me. I almost bought one in May 2005, but I chickened out and bought a Moog synthesizer instead. Not that I ever want to give up that synthesizer, even if it is currently malfunctioning from being dust logged, but I often regret that I didn't choose the Hummingbird.
You leave the B string as-is when tuning to Open G. You tune to Open G and then put a capo at the fourth fret (now an Open B) to play Jumpin Jack Flash, Tumbling Dice, and Street Fighting Man like Keith does live.

What about fingerstyle playing without a pick on this one? I am used to play on 000 martin's with a modified V neck. I think this guitar is more likely to be compared with a Martin dreadnought or am I wrong? Of course the selection of the wood Mahogany makes it a different too.
I had one of these beautiful guitars, but it was stolen from me at the Fulton Palace in around 1972 and I never saw it again 😢 I hope whoever stole it got some bad karma back.
I had a 64 Hummingbird and it was awesome.

id like to know as well!
Reminiscent of Bon Iver - Holocene
Forgot to remove the low E string😄....Do you leave the B string as is (3rd) or drop it to an A in open G tuning? Awesome Michael!

@@mauser98k85 Thanks!
whats the last song he played? it's really good
Nice round there - which strings do we hear. Sounds a bit like silk'n'steel, which I'm sure it isn't.
Jimi told us he "had a hummingbird that hummed so loud, you'd think you'd lose your mind." I think this one knows the words...
Who is Jimi ?

Yes - had a gigant poster of him between 11 and 14 in the early 1970s.
But when did he have a Hummingbird. .
Still no answer. .

A Gibson ainda não tem tanto espaço no Brasil como a fender

Hummingbird don’t fly away fly away
What's the tuning?
