It’s unreal to think they raced for an entire day only for it to come down to a mere quarter of a car length
Also very frustrating how little coverage we got of LMP2
Yes, never over until it’s over!
no they do not, i am not sure you know that they change drivers every now and then they have 3 drivers each unlike Le mans no one is allowed to drive the full 24 H race.
@@mjonesmotorsportsbarcharts he means the cars and the teams not the drivers
@@mjonesmotorsportsbarcharts did you not read "they"
This was the first Rolex 24 I watched. Safe to say I’m watching it again in 2024!
Same
Don't forget Sebring, Le Mans, and Petit Le Mans!
Look out for the Lamborghini GTP car next year competing for an overall win ! 🎉
Welcome to the world of endurance racing 😊
That race connected to me follow IMSA and WEC
My whole Discord VC was going ballistic. Once how I saw how better he got through the bus stop than the 04 I just knew it was going to be close, and I was right. What a finish and what a race.
@@nascarfanFlatTire ya know it
@@hudsboy1049 I was there, it was truly nuts. I even called it that Allen was gonna get it
I listened to this battle and finish live on the IMSA radio and it was absolutely amazing and incredible.
They didn't even acknowledge this battle on imsa radio. In fact, they were in the middle of an interview during the entire thing, including during the photo finish.
A pretty memorable interview, it has to be said.
the commentators interrupting the interview was so funny but necessary lmao
“Here he comes he got this time”
“It’s gonna be a drag race”
“Wow”
“They touch, they touch”
“Proton got em”
*proton
"Have you ever?"
NO I’VE NEVER!
This is only the third year I've watched the Rolex 24 and the second I've seen the finish live. Given how long and tough these races can be, I never thought I would be fortunate enough to actually see an event like this live.
I stayed up 20 of the 24 hours and it was all worth it. For the 5 years I’ve watched the Rolex this was the best🔥🔥🔥🔥
More people should watch sportscar racing
You are totaly allrigth. I love racing car. All ki d of race: formula-1, formula-E, Indy, endurece, stockcar and others.🏁🏎🏁🏎💋

The racing in IMSA has truly become top-notch and the class of road racing imo. It's far more exciting to watch than other mainstream series such as, F1, WEC, etc.... What a race from all classes (except lmp3 XD)!!
IMSA is no different to WEC so what are you talking about?
@@B-A-L The yellow flag rules are a bit different, and I still think there is way better racing in IMSA
@@ImKairyu I like the yellow flag rules, I feel like if they didn't have it the race would be ALOT more boring. Pretty sure the only reason almost all the top 3 in each class were with in 10secs of each other by the end was because yellow flag = safety car (except LMP3 where second was 11 laps down).
@@liveandletdie138 Felt like there were 10 FCYs (full course yellows) in the last 3 hours. Definitely helped Acura make up their laps to catch back up to Cadillac but I'm not mad about it. The last hour is when all the chaos starts.
@@chinqlinq89 Yea i felt the same too. I fell asleep when it was the #60 Acura and the #6 and #7 Porsche upfront one cadicallac a lap down and the other barely hanging on in hte back. I woke up to a cadillac 1,2 the acura a lap down with the #6 Porsche occasionally in the picture and the #7 in the pits. When and how the #60 got the lap back and to the front is a mystery to me but I know I enjoyed it.
Back to back years great finishes. Last years GTDP battle with the 2 Porsches was phenomenal, now this! I love the rolex 24!!!
I traveled to Daytona from Canada just to see it this year. Best 4 days of my life. That mid-race truck nap was a godsend
This is why you never give up, I thought it was over after he got in the grass, but he managed to get the Rolex watch
Rumor is Nascar is hiring these two drivers to put on a tutorial for Nascar drivers of how to finish at Daytona side by side and not wreck the entire field.
Makes me wonder what the total pit stop times were for each car, amazing to have a photo finish after so many hours racing.
Was there in person, can honestly say the race did not dissapoint, 24 of pure racing
and this is why it’s the best form of racing in the world
This is what racing is about
INSANE FINISH
Después de 24 horas definirse por 16 milésimas es impresionante
Best racing series by far only downside is they don’t race enough please add more dates
Racing for 24h and they closer then at the start.
Thats racing, thats why i love this so much!
It was awesome!! My first race as a spectator in the US and it was Daytona 24 hours!! Still can't believe it)) Thanks to all you pilots, crew members, Daytona and IMSA managers - it was awesome! Commentator said, it was a population record at that day in the history of Rolex 24 Daytona and I was a part of it))
GREAT finish!
smoke vs wild thing to the line!
2007 Daytona 500 vibes
I remember watching that race was my first race as a UK viewer
This finish was actually closer than the 2007 Daytona 500
Outstanding!!!!
What an incredible race. IMSA has a fantastic recipe this year!
Man went: GAS GAS GAS!!!!
See? Daytona always brings the BEST races in the world.
0.016s after 24 Hours.
Best racing to watch on TV!! Can’t wait for Sebring!
I changed the 55 car front right tires the whole time. I was really fast
Never Ever Give Up... Great Finish......
UNBELIEVABLE
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Epic!!!!! Unreal finish after 24 hours of racing 💪💪💪💪💪🤯🤯🤯🤯
Epic!
That's crazy!
Never give up, never say die!
Who says that the Rolex is not a competitive race?
When they came out of speedway 4 I thought it was over. I guess I was wrong
🙌🏾🙌🏾
I'm sure this is one of the best battle for getting Rolex watch.
The margin was 0.016 sec, about the front of LMP2 cars to driver's position in its distance (according to the photo taken from other angle).
I set my alarm for 2.30am here to watch the final ten minutes and was not disappointed. IMSA always delivers.
this is the finish of the 24 hours of daytona SIDE BY SIDE BOUNCING OFF EACH OTHER
The last man crying is Cooper MacNeil, he has been racing for 15 years and won nunerous endurance races but never the Daytona 24h, this year was his last shot at this race before focusing on his family and company. His Mercedes 79 ended up crosing the finish line first in GTD Pro, what a better way to say goodbye to this race.
that was great need more coverage of this type of racing come back to COTA
Reminds me of the corvettes a few years ago
A statement race from the LMP2 class: it is idiotic to ditch this class in favor of bigger GTP/LMH field
Broadcast did a solid job, but towards the end I would’ve liked to see more about the close battles than the Acura with worse BOP than the Porsches in GTD
This is why I love endurance racing... you can't make drama like this up!
epic LMP2 finish
Yeah and the commentators on ViaPlay were too busy interviewing the overall winner to barely even notice and had to interrupt to commentate on it which is what they get paid to do!
AND HERE COMES SEBAT... JAMES ALLEN!! Thank you IMSA for providing thrilling battles and finishes.
なんてっこた!!👀
凄すぎる!!!!
One hundreth between them after 24 hours man that was insane
ROBIN S DUNN
Casually reminding yall Nascar owns imsa
i was thinking the same i will be watching my 17th season and greetings from the UK and my 16th Daytona 500 should politics be infold in sport no but i bloody do not care about it long as produce good racing.
Seeing as NASCAR pulled the plug of the TrackPass for international viewers that allowed us to pay £12 a month to watch all 3 race formats and forcing ViaPlay on us as the only option at £15 a month just for the Cup races and the occassional truck race I won't be watching the 2023 season after my 1 month ViaPlay runs out which I only got for the Daytona 24 hr race and the LA Coliseum race next week.
Literally everybody knows NASCAR owns imsa
J.allen was at first place :O
Over a 24 hour period, a difference of 0.016 seconds amounts to about 0.000000185% of a difference. That's what decided this race. Absolutely unreal. That has to be one of the smallers margins in any form of racing.
Never knew nascar does lmp2
I didn't even know who James Allan was until I google him and discovered he was Australian, The only Aussies in the race that are well know in Aus are Matt Campbell , Kenny Habul and Ryan Brisco
Brendon Hartley is a kiwi but still notable
So much better than the GTP race
they'll get better :)
OMG
nascar 25 years
I wanted this commentators also in official imsa site
伝説によるとチック・ヒックスはまだピットインのタイミングを探している
Someone in the pits radio started playing Decadence-Disturbed and Allen got inspired. Jesus that was intense!!
HAVE YOU EVER
NO I'VE NEVER
the MX5 race there a few days prior had a finish with the exact same margin, so yes, I have ever.
wait u realize the channel that posted this video is nascar:
Because they own Imsa
@@hehe-IgoBRRRR i am totally smart

Why is this on a NASCAR channel??
IMSA is owned by NASCAR
NASCAR owns IMSA, NASCAR has a bigger audience
No photo needed, clearly seen the winner 🤣
You get the idea
Someone's too smart for this world
