    Nice work brother! Sorry I missed you guys in '23... I should be there for '24!!! Deep staging a pro tree has it's pros and cons... tough break man. I use a Braum seat in my 1320 and the local tack I use is very strict on the rules, I have to wear my jacket when i race there however, they have never said anything about my seat.... yet! lol

    • @Scavenger1320

      The Braum seat might not be as much of an issue. When I got a Braum originally it seemed really sturdy and closer to an actual stock seat. My Kirkey really is thin though and flexes a lot. I didn't even realize how much until last weekend. I tried out a new camera angle and put one of my cameras on the rear shelf facing forward, so it got a full view of me in the seat. Watching those clips during a run I could really see how much the Kirkey moves and flexes. Still waiting for the official 24 MoParty dates, but I definitely plan on going again so hopefully I'll see you out there!

    Just watched this again. So many awesome Mopars! Those Hoosiers sure seem to hookup well, and that side wall wrinkle! Was that running at 22 psi? I'll be trying out my new DBR's in Redding California on September 13-15. Looking at a PB for sure, track DA is about 2,000 better than Las Vegas on average. Will be the first time running with the MBRP race catback & 180° race thermostat as well. Also, with only 1,600 miles, the car seems to run a little bit better everytime we take it out. Only bummer is I thought it was almost out of gas so I dumped a 5 gallon pail of 96 octane in it, and when I hooked up the battery to run it the other day the gauge read 3/4 tank😢 I tried to pump it out but cannot get the siphon hose far enough into the tank. Oh well, the extra weight should allow me to run an extra pound or two in the rear tires?
    Great video, thanks Chris!

      I think I was right around 22 psi that day. These hoosiers definitely wrinkle a LOT easier than the Mickeys. The year before another hellraisin 1320 had Hoosiers on his but at around 18 psi I think, and I remember watching him load up on his trailer and seeing the hoosiers wrinkle just going up the ramps lol. I think around maybe 2019 or so Dodge changed something with the gas tank filler. I bought one of those gas tappers like Speedy's Garage used on his old hellcat and I couldn't get the hose to go down into the gas either. I watched his vid on it carefully and tried every tip he said and no dice. I still have that gas tapper though. You could always just let it idle all day. Not that I would ever do that or even recommend it, that's just extra wear for no reason. I just bring it up because the first Legion of Demons race I went to, one guy had pump gas in his 2018 Demon and needed to empty it out so that he could put race gas in and run the Demon's factory race tune. He literally left it idling outside almost the entire friday to start that weekend. I will say though his car is a testament for durability. Every year at the Legion race he seems to make at least 60 passes over the course of those 3 days.

      Thanks! Yeah, this one has me a bit baffled too. As I was editing the video I slowed down my reaction and it doesn't look like I reacted early, so either my car decided to launch a little quicker than usual or I went in just a touch deep. But really I'm mad that I missed out on a great race, based on the timeslips it would have been a nail biter at the finish line.

    Oh well, can't win them all! Enjoyed watching the video. I sure didn't guess the seat was the problem. Hey Chris, do you ever use launch control and preset your RPM's, or just foot throttle it every time? Thanks!

    • @Scavenger1320
      @Scavenger1320  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I have yet to even try launch control. I've only ever heard negative things about it, most of which makes sense, so I've never bothered with it. Except for when I'm going off idle I'm always footbraking it.

  • @PatrickReagan
    @PatrickReagan 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    @18:00 I don't understand why tech is concerned about the seat when you're still on the stock tune. I use the Corbeau seat (no harness bar); a few lbs heavier but a little more rigid because it has a plastic shell.

    • @Scavenger1320
      @Scavenger1320  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      stock tune or not I'm still a low 11 second car hitting 120. Slow compared to all the redeyes/demons, but fast enough that on older cars that would have required a lot more safety equipment. Corbeau and Braum seats may not concern them as much since as you said, they're a bit more rigid. This Kirkey though isn't and does have some flex to it, and Kirkey even says in their installation guide you're supposed to brace the rear as well. I always knew I'd need to brace it eventually so I can't be mad about it lol. The other issue though is like he said, the recent rule changes are there because of all the OEM crash safety equipment, and the seat air bags are part of that system. Even though the rest of my airbags are still functional, it's still missing one.

  • @Raisinbran392
    @Raisinbran392 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    I appreciate your content. My questions is how do you bypass the air bag light? I run the drags at my local track and have pulled the passenger seat out and get the air bag light on.

    • @Scavenger1320
      @Scavenger1320  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It’s a fun car for sure. I know people that have had both and each has its pros and cons. Biggest tip I’d say if you get one is to take it straight to the tire shop and swap the front drag radials out for a street tire. Keep the drag radials on the rear so you still get to have fun with the extra traction and then when you burn through them you already have the pair that came off the front to use. Also make plans to come bring it out to MoParty in September for the 1320 Shootout

      @@Scavenger1320 Thanks so much! I've been watching a TON of videos on the 1320. A common thing I've noticed is the "wheel hop" when launching. I'm guessing that's more to do with the stock Nexen's.

    • @Scavenger1320
      @Scavenger1320  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@1320_ikimasho the Nexens are decent drag radials but they do need to be heated up good to really grab, especially if the track prep isn’t great. But also they’re 20” tires, so there’s not much sidewall there and only so much they can do. If you plan on taking it to the track a lot I’d definitely get a set of dedicated 17” drag wheels
