@@mostlyuselessgarage just an fyi, the Volvo pump doesn't output the same flow to support the Miata's higher PSI in its power steering rack. This one is closer to matching what the Miata/MX5 needs. If you use the Volvo pump, it will work, but it will have a heavier feel than this unit.
@max_coast I'd love to source an Astra pump but in North America we didn't get that car, except the Saturn Astra, and I don't think that pump was used in other GM products here. Volvo's are pretty plentiful, so that's likely why ppl use them despite the lower pressure. Thx, great info!
Loved it!! Super informative 👌👌
Expecting one in your Supra now 😅
Why solder the wires at the rack and pinion instead of buying the connector you used at the pump?
Very helpful 👍🏼
Thank you good sir 🤠
Any feedback on how it drives? Good, bad, problems?
what fittings will i need if i cant make them, i cant weld 😢
Very cool, could you please tell me what years/models of Astra come with that electric pump?

@pravbuilds awesome.thx! In North America, it seems that a popular option is the Volvo pump, which seems similar in design to this one. Great video!

That's awesome info - didn't even consider that. Astra pump seems to work well with every setup I've seen :)
