- CSS Topper (Written) Waqas Masud Ch. explained his strategy of subject selection. Waqas Secured 7th position all over Pakistan and secure 759 marks in CSS 2019.
So, when an aspirant sets his journey for CSS preparation, the very first thing that he considers is which subject is best to go with and can get maximum marks.
In this video lecture, Sir Waqas has described this course and has tried to cover all the possible questions.
The very first thing that one should follow is to thoroughly study the syllabus of all the subjects. Then he/she will be able to decide which subject is the best to go with or not. Once the first step completes, then the next step is to do an analysis of the scoring trend of the subjects of your liking.
Then, he/she will have the gist of the subject(s). Then he can answer the following question that could come in his mind.
1- Can I easily cover this in the possible minimum time?
2- Is that subject either has a good scoring trend in the past or being targeted ferociously by the competent authority?
So, the thing is to select those subjects of your liking who have a good scoring trend and can easily be covered in the minimum time.
Then, another question that arises in CSS aspirants' mind, "is scoring trend a Myth or Reality?" So, the answer is scoring trend is pure reality and it exists.
Subjects are targeted and the main reason is that subjects like International Relations need a depth study and a well versed critical analysis according to the IR theories that are defined n the syllabus of this subject. Therefore, most of the students don't opt for such a kind of approach and being targeted by the examiner.
Thirdly and lastly, one must have a strong command on the interlinking of subjects and presenting the argument in a diversified manner so that your paper stands out among your peers.

Sir between history of USA and European history which one is more easy to do and also scoring?

Well, you can find the DMCs of successful and unsuccessful candidates on many platform like Facebook groups and web forums that are related to CSS. Then, you can check the scoring trend of that particular subject from those collected DMCs.

Sir agar kise student ne 1 saal se ppsc ki Preparation ki ha uske India Pakistan history best rahe ge ya European or usa
In PPSC there is no such subject as indopak. you may opt any of them that is easy for you please

"Physics", "Gender studies", "History of usa", "Criminology" and "Punjabi"
Is it a good combination? I am confused because there is no overlapping of these subjects with each other and compulsory subjects

It’s a good combo. If you have background in physics or engineering then physics is also a good option
i take ''Physics'' , ''Environmental science'' , ''Criminology'' , ''History of USA'' , ''psychology'' . My background is Civil engineering.
Physics will be bit tough for civil engineers as per my information. Please check syllabus

@@nightowl104 In civil engineering i studied more than 2 courses of environment related , Am also the student of science .My aptitude is also good in this subject. So when i go through the syllabus and Past papers, majority of concepts and topics have already cleared by myself. A very little time required for me to prepare environmental science, it depends upon person vary to vary. About Psycholgy i have a very keen interest in this subject since past and have a good background knowledge in it without degree so it makes me easier from the other subjects. Background degree matters but Your Interest , your taste matters alot.
